I haven’t used it until it dies so I can’t speak to battery life but it is easily rechargeable via usb so with the small size I’m already content with the battery life. It is very bright for its size, even on its lowest setting. Bright and it’s cool light (white/blue, not orangey-red/warm) so it There are 4or 5 levels of brightness and then an sos mode. (Seems like the chip inside is from a flashlight...) Not really a bad feature but I can’t help but think of better options for another mode that would be more fitting for the use of this product. It would be nice if there was a lower setting available for low light, and it would be better if you could adjust light temperature and color, but this thing is tiny and inexpensive so it’s a great buy for what it is. You want more control over color? Buy a bigger product for more money. Just need some quick lighting options on the go? Pick this up. I will say the manufacturer could easily produce alternative silicone skins for a way to adjust colors and temperatures. Those would be awesome accessories for this little beast! This comes with one that is white to work as a diffuser but the light is still a bit strong. I can’t imagine using the thing without a diffuser...but I imagine all sorts of alternative diffusers. ... show more

Overall -- the light works well. The light is white and not really super warm. Plastic package the light comes in had been opened and I am not sure the product is new. This always bothers me and thus only 4 stars. The cold shoe mount was twisted in all the way to the stop but was not square with the camera mount. This can be solved by tightening down the upper knob on the cold shoe mount to hold the base square. I like the light and the price is good, but I don't like getting an obviously opened and used product when I am expecting new -- who knows what kind of battery life I may get now. ... show more

    • Cold shoe isn’t strong enough to secure light to camera
The concept is great but the cold shoe is poorly made. It was very strong as far as the strength behind the dials you turn to lock it into the mount. I lost it the first day I bought it because I was taking it in and out of the camera bag to use it. Never even knew it was gone until it was so I only used it for a few hours. Partially my fault but it didn’t securely lock in place either. I didn’t want to break it by over tightening it because it was made of some not so strong plastic. ... show more
