This light uses the premium Samsung diodes. Other companies that use them charge way more. The light is totally quiet, 40, 60, 80 and 100% selection for light intensity. I've purchased a lot of Vivosun's products for their competitive prices but their quality has never failed me. This set of light is hands down gorgeous and efficient. I use it in my 5x5 grow tent, and the plants are doing great under it. The things I love about this light: + The affordable price. Nothing beats Vivosun's in that matter. A comparable light with Samsung diodes could run easily over $500. + Look at how thin and lightweight it is in the attached photos. Amazing!! + It is so bright you NEED to make sure to wear glasses. My plants are loving it. Light has the dimming function; simply turn the knob to set it at 40%, 50%, 60%, 80% and 100% capacity. + It's completely quiet. No more annoying ticking sounds from the failing purple/pinkish light that I previously used. + The green quick-release button is an awesome feature for easy rope adjustment. + It could run a little warm in a small enclosed space, but nothing out of ordinary for a 4000 light. In fact, I think it's emitting less heat than the 2000 (200w) light I got from another brand. Personally, I'm not using it with a fan, but it wouldn't hurt if you want one. ... show more

I've been using this light about a year now. In that time I have flowered 4 sets of plants. The results have been very good. Very nice, dense buds. This light penetrates the canopy reasonably well. The lights are adjustable and that's good. I usually start my plants under a fluorescent light set up and move them at about 6 or so weeks from the low light set up to the Vivosun VS4000 tent. When you first introduce them, they need the lower setting to adjust, or you risk light burn. I start them on 40% and work them up over time. The light emits some heat but that's easily managed with ventilation. One of my lights had a problem about 11 months after I started using it. I contacted Vivosun and went through a series of emails explaining a few things to them. This was a bit of a pain but I understand there's a process they are following. In any case, the light was replaced with a new unit which I received promptly. Of course, ideally there would be no issues, but I am satisfied with the manner in which the warranty was handled. I've been operating 8 lamps for about 2 months. So far, everything has worked well. And I appreciate the tinted glasses which were included. I'll buy from Vivosun if I need more. A word of caution. We're talking about 300-watt lamps. 300 watts is a lot of heat. These lamps have a great built-in heat sink, but they do need to have air circulating around them. I have to run on a lower setting or raise the lights higher than recommended to not give my plants light burn. More than enough light for aggressive vegetative growth. Getting light burn up to 25” away from the plant. Outstanding light.

Ordered this light in July 2023, it's March 2024 and it's dead. When to check on things and it is totally dead. Contacted customer support. They said it has a 5 year warranty. Waiting to hear from customer service rep. Will continue this review when I know more. Customer support contacted me within a day. Had to do a couple of things to verify light not working. The light works great if you can get one shipped properly. If shipped in its original packaging UPS with work very hard to destroy it. Request it boxed well when you order.
