  • Absolutely great while it lasted!
Size: 100W
I have had this pump running for just about 3 years straight in an indoor turtle pond. While it was working, it was phenomenal! It provided great volume, and was exceptionally quiet! It recently started producing humming and then mild grinding noises. It appears something failed on the rotor, which then began to contact the housing along with the impeller. I'm going to buy another, this time with the available 4 year protection plan! ... show more

  • Works well, hard to find compatible hose
Size: 620W
I’ve been using my pump for about 2 months now and it seems to be working well. It was hard to find a 2” hose for it so we had to do some customizations but otherwise no complaints yet

  • So far...It's Been a Real "Trooper"
Size: 220W
This pump is strong. It's well built. The casing and It's "footprint" or base is sturdy and sits well and the "cone shaped" connector is designed to fit a number of hose sizes. If you're using a larger hose, cut the smaller part of the hose connection off of the adapter with a hacksaw. Leaving the smaller end on the fitting will increase water output pressure, but it cuts down on outpup volume. A stainless automotive type hose clamp works well. Switching out the old inoperable pump with this one was a ten minute job requiring only a screw driver to tighten the clamp. So far, an inexpensive replacement with very strong output. ... show more

  • So far so good.
Size: 100W
Have had this pump for about 9 months and it has run continuous in that time. I was out of town for the Christmas blizzard and my filter box froze over which caused the pond level to drop below the pump level. To my surprise the pump was still spinning. I am not sure how long it had been running dry. After all had thawed out I plugged it back in and it has never missed a beat. The pre-pump screen can be a little difficult to remove if there is a any growth of algae on it, making it slippery other than this no issues. ... show more

  • Game changer !
Size: 100W
I had a 800 gph that kept clogging up like every 2 days. I ordered this 1600gph one and it’s a day abd night difference! Even at the moment this one debris clogging it it is still going strong! Had a bad storm and havnt have a chance to clean it yet but was excited to see that it is still doing so well even with debris on it. It’s heavy and built solid! I added a bio filter unit to it abd my water went from dark brown tea color to crystal clear in a matter of a few days. I have a 500 gallon pond btw. But I highly recommend this pump vs some other smaller ones. Big time saver! ... show more

  • Quality and long lasting
Size: 100W
We have had great success with this pump in our media bed. Pump runs 24x7 for over 2 years.

  • Great pump.
Size: 620W
This is a powerful pump that is perfect for what we wanted. It is powerful enough to replace 2 smaller pumps in our water feature. We didn’t expect the connections to be perfect. It was easy to fix it the way we needed it.

  • Great pump, great value, all around strong pump
Size: 220W
Update 7/13/2021: i ordered another one as my pump all the sudden stopped spinning again. i remembered to try cleaning it again like back in 2020 and this thing is working like a champ again. Love this pump. Keeping the new order as a back up for when cleaning no longer works. Ive been using this pump since july 2019 , about 10 months now. It seemed to stop working may 11th 2020 as the fan stopped spinning when it was plugged in. Fortunatley I was able to remedy it by removing the fan and cleaning out the magnet housing inside which looked to be caked up with built up film, using a tooth brush. It is a little tricky to unlock the fan from its housing, you will need a flat screw driver something to lightly hammer the screw driver and something to wedge inbetween the screw driver and the point that locks in the fan. In addition, i messaged vivosun and they graciously offered me a solution to either refund or replace the product at no cost to me. I have to say that was very nice of them on their part. Fortunately I didnt have to take them up on their offer so kudos to them for customer service. The pump i purchased was the 4500gph version which they do not have listed anymore but i would venture to say that the higher and lower units are both probably good and worth the try and value. The 4500gph is really strong, i did no testing to show the output is actually 4500gph since well I dont know how. But, i can say it flips my 1700gallon fish pond over rather well causing enough flow that my pond stays clear. The flow was so much that i had to add two diy overflow 2" pipes to a 1 1/2 and 2" pipe outlets for the return. This thing easilly shoots up water 4' off the ground. The intake fans seem to be designed in away that algae/debrie does not clog up on it or at least i havent had that issue as of yet. However the cover to the fans can get clogged if its not ventilated well for flow or if the debri is too big and cakes up around the entire inlet casing. As i mentioned earlier, the fan can stop if film from debrie and water minerals forms a film on the inside of the motor and the fan magnet itself. in the inside of the magnet housing the fan rests in. My only consistent complaint i have about this pump as another customer has mentioned is the inlet cover that protects the fan. It is loose and can come off if not secured in some way. It does not lock well in its current design. I use pvc piping to connect to the outlet on the cover and secure rhe cover from coming off by usinf large stones inside a bucket that holds the fan in place. The pvc piping basically gets hold by the stones which inturn keeps the cover from moving. Im sure one can find other clever ways to keep it on. This pump can take either hosing or pvc piping, which us great because i prefer pvc over hoses for this thing. Also the pvc connectors can easilly be found at home depot. There are a few options to connect it, i used a threaded coupler with smooth end to attach pvc. I forgot what size but it shouldnt be too hard to figure it out. I would recommend anyone to try vivosuns models of this type of pump. The cost and effeciency is worth it. I do not believe my pump stopping due to the film build up was a defective reason and more of a wear and tear cause so well see as i continue to use the one i currently have. ... show more
