I like this mascara as a cheaper alternative to the $30+ ones I typically purchase, but cannot recommend for every day use. It's quite drying and I have started to have significant lash fallout after using it for about a month (similar to when I tired to use waterproof mascara as my daily one summer). Details below re: pros & cons- It goes on thin and without clumps. This this does not thicken my lashes, but when I use a curler and apply this to the tips it holds the curl nearly all day.. It reminds me a lot of the Givenchy Volume Disturbia mascara. I live in a humid state and have oily(ish) eyelids - as in, I am one of those people plagued with racoon eye syndrome a few hours after eyeline & mascara application. I do not get that with this mascara. I even wore this to a major event with it on my lower lashes where I danced the night away, sweat like I was in a cardio class, and my eyes were still perfect. Shocking, honestly. I'm not sure I've ever had a mascara with such staying power and I've shelled out upwards of $50 for the 'best' waterproofs. Now for the cons: For the first time in my life, I have a tiny little bald spot on my upper lash line. I have always had long lashes, never any major fallout problem except (as I noted above) when I decided to wear waterproof as my daily. A month into wearing this I'm getting the same fall out. Given the 'stay power' of this mascara, I am assuming that this is in fact a waterproof formula or has the same drying/damaging ingredients of the waterproofs to may it stay, which is also making my eyelashes jump ship. So mascara wearers beware - while this stuff is great, it might dry your lashes out to the point of them falling out. And before you say, "man those are some weak lashes" - I have had lash lifts and long term extensions applied (years ago) and did not have fallout like this from that level of damage. So this is doing something pretty serious. I will keep this in my summer arsenal since it doesn't budge, but unfortunately cannot use it or recommend it for use as a daily. ... show more

Update- I had a mascara emergency recently ( I lost it while applying in the car, stoped, of course) or it fell out of the car for the walk of tardy shame for kid 2….it was a run into Walgreens and I didn’t want to spend a ton for what I may find later. Welcome to my life Wet n wild in the purple tube (waterproof over my primer), it has the same brush, I still poked myself in the eye, but I could tell no difference. Price tag, under $3 on sale. Zero flaking, zero smudge. Never did I think I would love a $3 mascara. Maybe fresher than this one? IDK. I may just have been converted. Original/ First I will say that I am a total mascara snob, I do not go ANYWHERE without mascara on. I have used Lancôme for 20+ years and any time I found the “next greatest” mascara and tried it I was so disappointed. I read lots of reviews and could hardly believe that THIS product could be this amazing. I expected a good mascara but nothing that blew me away. I was so wrong! The first time I tried it my lashes looked amazing! I have long and very thick lashes so many mascaras clump the lashes together, even my beloved Lancôme. The ones that do not clump do not seem to produce any noticeable results. THIS mascara not only gave perfect coverage from root easily to tip, it is a perfect level of thickness. There is NO CLUMPING! I have used it over my Lancôme primer just because I find that I get less under the eye mascara as the day progresses. However when I haven’t the lashes still look long, thick and defined. And it is absolutely the best single cosmetic product I have ever used! The brush took a few tries to really feel like I got it, but making sure the very tip is wiped is key to a random blob on my lid. I admit that having used different brushes for so long that I stabbed myself in the eye the first time I used it but that was entirely my fault. I also have always used a waterproof mascara, in heat and humidity it just stays better, however this has amazing staying power. I often fall asleep without removing makeup, but this is still looking great when I get up and is easily removed by my usual facial cleanser. I have not needed eye makeup remover. This was by far the best purchase I have made in a long time. Everyone needs to try this!!! I will add pictures if I can to the review. Edit- I am now on maybe my 4th tube (the first one is still pretty “fresh” and have tried a few others since buying this (ok, I’m obsessed with mascara!) AND given this as gifts multiple times and this still is by far the best mascara I’ve ever used. I have not gotten the waterproof version even though that is normally what I would go with because this one stays put so well. Seriously not sure how it is so inexpensive. I wanted a mascara that doesn’t flake and the reviews sounded good, but this brand flakes as bad as the brand I stopped using. I love Rimmel and found a gentle mascara that doesn’t flake that much so I am using it instead. Waste of $13.
