  • Fabulous quality
Style: All-Terrain Color: Black
This is my second scooter because our first one we bout 10 yrs ago and used for 8 different surgeries for 3 different people finally wore out and it had small hard wheels so was not great for different floor types but this scooter is all terrain super smooth ride perfect transition from hard wood to carpet no bumping and great outdoors with super sturdy handle bars and great height adjustment. I did buy an extra thick gel pad for the knee as the foam ones dont last. I also switched the soft pouch for a hard basket to attach to the front because the soft pouch is not sturdy but i already had the pad and basket from my old scooter. This is a high quality scooter without the high price because there are similar scooters that are double the price. This one is great! ... show more

When faced with the daunting challenge of recovering from major foot surgery, I discovered a beacon of hope and mobility in the Vive Mobility All Terrain Knee Scooter Walker. This remarkable device is not merely a tool for getting around; it is a lifeline that restored my independence and significantly improved my quality of life during a critical period of healing. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail and a clear understanding of the needs of those recovering from foot, ankle, or lower leg injuries, the Vive Mobility Knee Scooter is a testament to innovative design and engineering. Its robust build quality immediately instills confidence, ensuring users that they are supported by a device that can withstand the rigors of daily use, while also being gentle on recovering bodies. The scooter's standout feature, its 12-inch pneumatic wheels, offers unparalleled stability across a myriad of terrains. Whether navigating the soft carpet of my living room, the uneven gravel paths of local parks, or the bustling sidewalks of the city, the scooter glided with an ease that made mobility feel almost effortless. This ease is further enhanced by the scooter's dual rear-disk brake system, which provides exceptional control and safety, even on gentle inclines or uneven surfaces. Another aspect of the scooter that deserves high praise is the contoured knee pad. Designed with the user's comfort in mind, the foam cushion cradles the lower leg, distributing pressure evenly to alleviate pain and reduce fatigue in the hip, knee, and leg. This thoughtful design made each journey on the scooter not just possible, but comfortable. The Vive Mobility Knee Scooter is also remarkably user-friendly in terms of adjustability and storage. The height-adjustable cushioned knee platform and steering handle ensure a perfect fit for users of various heights, enhancing comfort and control. Moreover, the convenience of the removable knee platform and folding steering handle cannot be overstated, making storage and transport a breeze. Perhaps what sets this scooter apart the most is the included storage bag, a simple yet incredibly useful addition. It allowed me to carry my essentials securely, adding a layer of practicality and independence that traditional crutches could never offer. In conclusion, the Vive Mobility All Terrain Knee Scooter Walker is not just a mobility aid; it is a game-changer for anyone recovering from foot, ankle, or lower leg surgery. • Sturdy well designed Knee Scooter...beware, not so good on open pavement though!
I got this knee scooter the day after my foot surgery, it was pretty easy to assemble quickly - even my wife who is not mechanically inclined figured most of it out within minutes. The only confusing part for her was the locking lever on the front of the Vive scooter (metal hand with a spring screw)...she wasn't sure how it worked. The key is to first pull the handle vertically so it fits over the bracket, next rotating down where the handle bottom faces down (see photos). After building it, we put on the Vive knee cushion (HIGHLY RECOMMEND as the seat is not very cushiony) I had ordered separately onto the seat and we were off and running. It is very stable and keeps its balance fairly well in turns. The brakes work well, but they are just a metal plate (see photo) that bears down on the polyurethane wheels...so braking can be somewhat less than smooth if you are going at any speed (ie. downhill). Both brake handles operate the same metal plate against both back wheels (no brakes on front wheels which is good - don't want to flip forward!) so it doesn't matter which brake you engage. You can LOCK the brake in place which his a GREAT feature using a spring loaded metal pin (see photo) - you just have to squeeze the brake handle pretty good to ensure the pin can be pushed down and stay engaged properly. Warning - pavement not as good as in your house. Probably goes without saying but if you're on polyurethane wheels like this Vive scooter has, every rock, pebble, acorn, gap in the sidewalk has the potential to make your handle jump to one side or the other depending on which wheel hit it. That means its pretty slow going if you see any rough pavement, dirty pavement, gappy sidewalks, textured bump ramps (many handicap ramps are ribbed), etc. If thats a show stopper for you and you aren't a careful person outside - opt for a more expensive "off-road" air tire version of the knee scooter. Otherwise, if you take it slow...it won't be the greatest ride, but at least you can make it through the road junk without sending your scooter flying to one side or another. I did ride this scooter in the rain (not by choice mind you) and it performed very well..didn't slide everywhere and this is where those metal brakes actually worked better. lol The bag....what a lifesaver. This knee scooter came with a nice nylon removable lightweight knapsack type bag complete with a shoulder strap. I was able to shuffle around my house putting food, drinks, my laptop, cell phone, etc etc. and get from place to place. Just a very nice touch to be included with the scooter. The only knock? Well the mount bracket is two metal prongs that you have to slide a very very narrow nylon attachment on the bak over the metal prongs to hang it (see pic). Meh...its a pain in the keister to get it on. But I plan to just add some industrial velcro onto that nylon area and just velcro strap it onto the handle - presto instant upgrade. :) This scooter is not "lightweight" per se at roughly 25 lbs...but it does have a collapsable handle. Disengaging that metal locking braket mechanism allows you to fold down the handle (turn the wheel to get it past the seat then rotate it back to the center after it clears the seat). I wish they had provided a strap to allow you to then strap in the folded handle against the seat...but alas, nothing a little trip to the store for a velcro strap to make it betta. This will fit folded in most larger sedans back seats, trunks, and certainly in any SUV/Minivan or taxi with a deep trunk. Final thoughts: Great scooter, sturdy, more of an indoor device but can easily be used outdoors if you take it slow over pavement/sidewalks. If they had offered this with air tires without charging an arm and let I might have gone that route but as it is, for the $130+ bucks I paid...this is a good investment. Second foot surgery...here I come! ... show more
