This is a really good dash cam. The video quality is excellent both day and night and it has had no issues in the almost year since I've installed it. I'm thoroughly surprised at how well it's held up in the heat, I installed it last fall and was a bit worried that the adhesion might fail in the summer, or that the device may overhead, but I've had no issues with either thus far. Install was pretty straightforward, I got the additional cable so it could be hardwired in, and while I wasn't able to get the always-on passive monitoring to work for me I'm pretty sure that's just due to a lack of understanding on my part and the confusing work of Volkswagen cars. I ended up routing the wires along the top edge of the windscreen, through the front driver side pillar, and down into the power box. The device itself is very small, and easy to hide behind the mirror or another part of the car where it won't obstruct your view, which is ideal in my opinion. The final result in my vehicle was a nearly invisible dash cam with only a couple inches of exposed wires, nothing blocking my view while driving but the whole thing is easy to access if needed.

This review is for VIOFO A119 Mini 2 dashcam Firmware version 1.0.20230605 App version 3.2.12 My initial testing of the VIOFO A119 Mini 2 has been positive, it is comparable to similarly priced and resolution dashcams, the A119 Mini 2 dashcam day and night video quality is good. The VIOFO A119 Mini 2 is a single-channel dashcam that records in 2K resolution. It has a 140° field of view, so you can capture everything that's happening on the road in front of your car. The A119 Mini 2 uses STARVIS 2 sensor which can record clear footage even in low-light conditions. In addition to its good video quality, the A119 Mini 2 also has a number of other features that make it a good choice for drivers. It has GPS mounting module, so you can track your speed and location. I like the fact that the dashcam can be removed from the mount (GPS logger) and stored away without the need to remove the mount. It also has a G-sensor and motion detection that can automatically save footage in the event of an accident. The A119 Mini 2 is relatively easy to install and use. The mounting bracket doubles as the GPS logger, the adhesive is strong, the last few days outside temperature has been around 100 degrees, presumably 120+ degrees inside the car, the adhesive held however it was mounted recently so the bond was new and strong, will update my review if this changes. The A119 Mini 2 settings can be changed using smartphone which makes management very easy, the footage can be view and transferred to smartphone or computer. Here are some of the pros and cons of the VIOFO A119 Mini 2: Pros: • 2K resolution allows you to see more detail in the footage. • 140° field of view captures more of the road in the front of the car. • Excellent night vision gets clear footage even in low-light condition. • GPS module (logger) • G-sensor and motion detection • Dual-Bank Wi-Fi Built-in 2.4GHz and 5GHz • Easy to install and use • The dashcam can be removed from the mounting bracket (GPS logger) for safe storage. • Voice control, following command (take photo, Video Start, Video Stop, Turn on audio, Turn off audio, Turn on Screen, Turn off Screen, Lock the Video, Turn on Wi-Fi, Turn off Wi-Fi) Cons: • In extreme heat the video image becomes blurry. • App related not camera: Show the app version without the need to connect to the camera • Remove the Facebook button from the app instead add About option. • It seems the Firmware button in the app doesn’t do anything. Feature did not test Parking mode Overall, the VIOFO A119 Mini 2 is a good dashcam with a lot of features and good video quality. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a single channel, reasonably priced, high-quality 2K resolution dashcam.

The video quality is better than cheaper models, but it’s not particularly impressive. During the day, license plates are generally visible, but not always perfectly clear — you still need to look carefully to recognize them. At night, the reliability drops even further, possibly due to light interference. Voice control is a nice feature, but one thing I don’t like is that the device sometimes accidentally turns on the recording or Wi-Fi functions by itself. I’m not sure what causes it — occasionally, these features just activate randomly while driving. The Wi-Fi feature works, but the overall experience isn’t great. First, the connection process is rather cumbersome; you have to switch back and forth between the app and your phone’s Wi-Fi settings. I suspect it may conflict with my car’s built-in Wi-Fi network. Second, downloading videos over Wi-Fi is quite slow — transferring a three-minute clip can take about five minutes or even longer. I didn’t time it precisely, but the wait definitely feels long. It might have something to do with the memory card, though I’m using a SanDisk high-performance card. I only use the dash cam while driving, not for 24-hour recording, even though the brand recommends the MAX series.

nice budget option for peace of mind on the road. quality is great, it was very easy to set up, and it just works. if you dont have a dash cam, you should get one, and this one is a nice budget friendly option =)
