Color: Firewood Kindling Splitter-2

Features

  • SAFEST USE: This log splitting no moving blades or sharp components passing near your hands, yet it cuts logs easily with minimal labor, no axe required. simply place the log in our firewood splitter. Then hit down on the wood with a hammer, mallet or even another piece of wood, safe and convenient. Great for making small kindling.
  • OPEN TOP RING DESIGN: This firewood splitter has a unique patented open top ring design that allows it to cut larger logs without clogging up like other products on the market when handling large firewood. The 15.7'' high base allows for longer logs to be cut.
  • REPLACEABLE BLADE DESIGN: Log splitting is made of solid high carbon steel with a hardened blade that is so hard that it will not cause damage even if you are accidentally hit by a hammer while splitting wood. Despite all our efforts to strengthen the quality, any metal part will wear out over time, so we have made the blade removable and replaceable, so that you can maintain, polish and replace the blade at any time, truly "from generation to generation".
  • SAFETY & STABILITY: To enhance the stability of the product, we have widened the base and drilled 4 bolt holes to allow it to be fixed to the stump, which provides extra stability and height for more effective splitting. In addition, in response to the market feedback of "loose and wobbly product assembly", we have added two bolt holes at the base and support rod connection to form a "cross-fixed" stable structure, solving the problem of loose and wobbly in one go.
  • OPEN TOP RING DESIGN: This firewood splitter has a unique patented open top ring design that allows it to cut larger logs without clogging up like other products on the market when handling large firewood. The 15.7'' high base allows for longer logs to be cut.

  • great utility and looks good
I'm always carrying armfuls of wood to either the fire pit or the fireplace in the winter. So when I saw his I wanted to give it a shot. Turns out it's awesome ! First I can carry more wood with this than I can carry in my arms alone. That's nice because my wood piles are between different sets of trees in my back yard. So I can load up from different piles easily. That's a huge plus. Also it's well made. It's a lot bigger unfolded than it looks you stack wood in the center and then keep stacking up. When you pull the handles up the weight will evenly distribute and you have the option of closing the top off. For my short distances, I don't close up the top, I just grab the handles and go. On average I carry about 10 split log pieces likely close to 30 lbs. This makes it easy. The material is thick, I can throw a log on it and I don't feel like it will tear. Its not the stuff the fire hoses are made from, but it's more like a thick pair of jeans. It's not going to snag. The straps are reinforced with extra stitching and it handles the weight without (at least so far) any tears. I also like that when not in use you can fold it pretty small, and I store it under my fireplace tools and it looks good there. In theory you could just leave wood you're not using in it close off the top as a decorative presentation, but I don't like wood in the house only because it sit's outside more than inside, and critters and stuff get in the wood. But say if I were bringing wood in from an indoor area I think this could also be used decoratively. This is a good tool that also looks good. ... show more

  • Thought this was perfect, until I used it...
I frequently use a log tote to bring in firewood. I prefer to use two totes at the same time (one in each hand) to reduce the number of trips I have to make from the woodpile. One of the problems with that is once one tote is full and I place it on the ground it has a tendency to "fall apart", by which I mean the nice stack of wood that fits inside the tote collapses and the two sides of the tote fall on the ground making it hard to pick up after the second tote has been loaded. I "fixed" that problem by adding a velcro loop to one of the handles of one of the totes to secure the two handles together so that it stays in shape when I place it on the ground which allows me to easily pick it up once the second tote is loaded. However, is kind of awkward having to undo the velcro loop, thread it through the second handle and resecure the two ends of the loop, but does work. When I saw this new tote it looked like it had such a securing mechanism as part of the tote with a strap on one side and an attachment mechanism on the other side. Now that I've had a chance to use it I find that the idea is what I hoped for, but the implementation leaves much to be desired. First, the strap is way too short to load the tote to the level that I normally carry. Second, the securing mechanism on the other side of the tote is a classic double metal loop arrangement where you thread the strap through both, fold over, and run back through one loop in the opposite direction, you can then pull on the loose end to tighten it up. I wear gloves when working with split wood to avoid splinters and cuts from the rough split wood, as I suspect most people would do. In addition to the strap being too short, trying to thread the strap through these loops and then back through one of them is almost impossible to do while wearing gloves. Especially if the tote is full and you have to pull the strap hard to keep the wood stack from collapsing. A better design would be to have the strap longer, and to have a quick clip mechanism on the end of the strap, such as a carabiner, to attach to the metal loops on the other side of the tote. I actually modified the tote to work that way. I folded over the strap and secured the end to make a loop in the strap. I then put two loops of nylon cord through that strap loop and secured the ends of the nylon cord to each other to make a loop that extended the length of the strap. I then clipped a carabiner through that nylon cord loop which allowed me to clip the carabiner to the existing metal rings on the other side of the tote. It works great, even with gloves on and the tote completely full. This would be a simple and vast improvement to the product if the manufacturer would redesign the strap mechanism to actually work easily in the field with gloves on. ... show more

  • There will be a lot less trips to the woodpile needed
Happy I can use it with one hand, no dropping logs on the way in trying to close a door. Brought in 7 pieces of dense split wood in one carry quite easily. Most of the time I have trouble with three trying to keep them from falling. Then, the wood can sit near the fireplace on the canvas and not dirty up the floor as much. The thing I don't like is the artificial "canvas" has an odor. Let it air out for about a week before using it today, but still fairly noticeable. But it does the job and will be hanging in the garage when we aren't using it to hopefully keep airing out. The hook and loop tab helps keep the handles together when you carry it and doesn't feel like your hand is straining to keep the handles together. Very pleased with this. I know others in the house will probably load it with even more heavy wood. It has a larger capacity than I actually will use due to weight, but it doubles or more what I usually can carry. ... show more

  • So far so good
The material used is somewhat stiff and feels strong. The stitching on the trim uses thin thread and has me wondering how well it will wear. The same thread/stitching also appears on the handles where there is a small square of material that wraps around the straps (similar to a duffle bag) to make carrying more comfortable. The firewood carrier works adequately and definitely reduces the number of trips I need to make to get firewood. First impressions are that this is a well-made product (feels strong), but I am curious to see how this product ages as I would have expected the stitching (handles and particularly the trim) to use thicker thread and perhaps a more aggressive stitching pattern. ... show more

  • I should have gotten one years ago
We have a large wood-burning stove that we use in the winter to supplement our oil burner. When the stove is kicking, it easily heats the first floor and most of the bedrooms on the 2nd floor. Even though the stove is efficient, we still go through a decent amount of wood in the season. In the late fall, we store about a cord in a half in the basement. This tote is a game-changer! I'm getting up there in age and I am always cautious about tripping while carrying an arm full of wood upstairs. This tote allows me to safely carry more wood and keeps my shirt free of wood dust and debris. Going up the stairs I am able to carry the wood with one hand and hold onto the rail with my other hand. I've seen these totes advertised for years, I'm glad I jumped on this one! ... show more
