I wish I would have purchased this sooner. It does an incredible job of cleaning. I still had to manually remove the sticky gum residue but this definitely made the whole process easier. Also worked great for my wife's jewelry and cleaning bolts. Pictures are a boat carburetor that set for many years. The needle and jets were too gummed up to remove. I used a splash of simple green and set the temperature to 50C. Two runs of 20 minutes got the results you see. ... show more

Ultrasonic cleaning isn't magic, but it takes some common sense. It is easy if you're not in a hurry. This cleaner is nice, has a good temp control and easy to use interface. I bought the 10L one because it had a large enough basket to fit a carb, pistons, or VW oil cooler. I also got little baskets for the small carb parts. It take time and temp to make stuff clean. If you have a super gummed up part, figure on a couple hours of cleaning. The negative is that the longest time you can set is 30 minutes...no reason they couldn't allow it to go for a couple hours unless it's a duty cycle thing. So expect to hit go a few times until you're happy with the cleanliness. Changing the cleaning fluid / degreaser is easy enough. I've been using some generic cleaner from amazon...I'm pretty sure it's a rip off of Simple Green (but was cheaper). It comes with a drain valve and a somewhat crappy (but functional) nozzle/hose. That's ok by me...it functions and I don't need brass fittings to drain out the used fluid/degreaser. Expect really dirty stuff to make your degreaser really dirty. I've found that most things get clean within 2 hours at 40C, including the really gummed up and nasty carb which was the reason I bought this (turned out like new I might add). A few parts have taken longer, namely the oil cooler I should have bothered pre-cleaning prior to tossing it in (live and learn...needed to change the degreaser/detergent after it). I've not tried it with actual solvent (like carb cleaner) because I've found hot degreaser to be sufficient. Biggest thing now is to have a nearby system to flush the degreaser out of your newly clean part. And yes, it's loud, expect that, probably not the tool you want to put it in your bedroom or someplace you want peace and quiet. I can't believe the reviews complaining that the ULTRASONIC cleaner is loud...what did you expect? Luckily it's small enough you can simply put it outside and let it run if you so choose. ... show more

    • Unit worked fine, until it didnt work at all

I used this unit and liked it quite a bit until after about 12 uses, it shut off and would not function any longer. I used it to clean pistol parts, so I ran it a maximum of 2 times per week for about 6 weeks in 15 minute intervals. I used heating and the ultrasonic cleaning, maybe that was too much for it. It worked well, but suddenly it shut off in the middle of a cleaning and would not turn back on. The rear power switch still worked based on the light in the power switch coming on, but the front panel just stopped working - no lights or anything. I unplugged it, let it cool down, and tried again, but nothing. I returned the product for a refund and I'll be looking for something a little more well made. Maybe I overworked it? Not too sure but definitely something to keep in mind if you plan on using it fairly frequently. I was outside of the return window by about 2 weeks but Amazon helped me out and extended the return window. Something else to note - the tray that holds the cleaning solution is not removable, so emptying the unit and cleaning it can be a bit of a hassle because you have to take the entire unit to a sink rinse the tray from there. Its not a huge deal, as I am not sure it would work as well if it did have a removable tray, but something else to keep in mind as the unit is not small. ... show more

    • Regardless what size you purchase (I bought 22L) do NOT forget to purchase your degreaser, etc.

Biggest downside is this thing is insanely loud. I cannot comfortably run it without in ear hearing protection, and I don't enjoy sitting in the same small room without doubling up with over ear hearing protection, too. It's best to set it for 15-30 minutes and go eat or do something productive while it's running. I'm just hoping I never come back to find leaks. I don't exactly trust the heater, so I haven't used it yet, and have only run very hot (not boiling but too hot to touch) tap water and got very mild results. I would highly recommend buying some thin steel wire (I bought 19 gauge) to hold down any unusual objects that might only float to the top. Draining takes quite a while, and sadly you can't just drain the whole unit in one go. You'll have to rinse, and because of the basin shape, it will not drain to perfection. The overall shape of the basin and cleaner are very nifty though, as it's easy to move around and does not weigh too much. It looks sleek and modern. After attempting to clean some of the dirtiest things imaginable, this is my conclusion: unless you’re regularly cleaning large items that are as large as the spaced container, just get a smaller Ultrasonic Cleaner. I attempted cleaning several pairs of gloves which all fit well, but the end result was nil-to-none over 30 minutes. For truly effective use, you will want long duration for cleaning time and effective use of space. Technically it’s cheap enough to buy a small Vevor Ultrasonic Cleaner, too, but I’d say this is my worst investment of 2023. I put a bulky tool inside with some other items, and the rust and grease began to clear up slightly after just 30 minutes. I suppose letting my messy tools sit in here for hours at a time would be very worthwhile. Other than tools and non-fragile parts, this isn’t exactly something I would buy again. Next time I’ll consider 11L instead. If the machine was far quieter, I would definitely be happier. Also, this unit only runs in 30 minute intervals… not incredibly useful. ... show more

Works as expected. Heats up quickly. No, it is not loud - I run mine in the kitchen. Use just dish soap to clean up carburetors. Freed more than one seized part. Cleaned many more. Easy drain and storage.
