Although many of the hoists look similar they aren’t. This Velcro hoist was heavier duty than the Partssim hoist I first purchased and then returned. For instance it had a hezbiet motor and the support bracket were steel instead of aluminum. They were also big enough to straddle a standard 1.5” truss. The first other support brackets couldn’t do this. This one also had a 14’ Cory on the control which was necessary for my application. All I. Some reviews complained the power cord was too short. Therefore, I installed an outlet 1 foot away. When the hoist arrived the power cord was 5 feet 6 inches long. Not a problem. One review stated that the mounting threads were messed up and had to run a tap through one. All four of the mounting threads on my unit were unusable. It appeared that there was welding spatter on the threads. Being a former aircraft mechanic, I had the proper tap. I was able to clean up three of the threads, the fourth was not too messed up and could not be cleaned up. I ended up using a separate nut below the welded nut and that worked fine. My installation was directly to a 2x6 and then the board was secured to the rafters. Made a very strong installation. The unit ran quietly. After load testing it to 150 pounds, it started to make more noise, but it lifted fine. I will update this in the spring when I lower the lawn mower out of the attic and put the snowblower back up in the attic. ... show more

I mounted this on deep strut with the trolley wheels so I can move across my shop. I put a small aircraft cable to hold the pendant and keep it from getting pulled out when moving it form one side to the other.

The media could not be loaded. Bought the 1300 lbs one and then the rollers and the c channel and it works really good you can slide it to the side of the barn ur working on and use it the power cord could be alittle longer it’s 6 foot long but it works good for the way I have it set up the cord for the buttons are perfect length to move around and use it only problems I have with the hoist is that the control box on the hoist is alittle weak we had it role around in the side by side and it broke off but we fixed it so that and then the safety switch when the winch is going up will sometimes go through that little bracket so you gotta watch that if ur wanting to go all the way up with it but who really goes that high with it , I would definitely buy again ... show more

i used this winch to pull a replacement hot water heater into my attic and attached it between two roof supports. It is noisy to me, but the benefits more than make up for it. The control cable is long enough for you to be at least 8 feet from whatever you are lifting. you can use single line for around 220lbs or double for around 440 lbs.
