Ordered on May 2 and received May 10. VEVOR Arbor Press, 1 Ton Manual Arbor Press, 5.9" Maximum Height, Cast Iron Heavy-duty Manual Desktop Arbor Press, Precision Hand Press for Stamping, Bending, Stretching, Forming ($53.99) Shipping box intact which is impressive for such a heavy-pointy item. Some plywood panels lined the inside of the box and that explains why it arrived in good condition. Very greasy and oily, which is EXPECTED for budget cast iron import. Oil and grease are not only REQUIRED for operation but they prevent corrosion (rust). No rust on the press I received. ALL parts present, nothing missing. First thing I did was disassemble to inspect the parts. Splines on the shaft were cut clean and so were teeth on the ram shaft. No "gibs", just bare adjustment screws to tune out slop. Not unexpected but I didn't want to use the press that way. A little too grindy. I chopped up a few scraps of UHMWPE to make 2 gibs, front and side, for the screws to press on. Cleaned up factory lube and added some "quality heavy bearing grease" to all the moving parts. Installed my UHMWPE gibs and reassembled. NOW the adjustment screws push on the UHMWPE and the ram shaft glides on the UHMWPE. No mechanical slop at all and no more grinding. Press appears to be well built and now operates very smoothly. My only complaint (-1 star) is the press ram-to-base alignment is a little off-center. Another customer has a photo showing the misalignment. Many of the castings are likely to have the same offset. Not a show-stopper here and not bad enough to return. This press will work for me. I'm just disappointed it wasn't a little more centered. It was the CHEAPEST 1-Ton arbor press I could find so imperfections are not a surprise. -1 star from 5 because ram alignment to base is a little off-center. 4 stars overall. ... show more

I first ordered one that was blue and sold under a different name. It had much better reviews. It was this same machine in a different color. It looked like it was a previously returned item, and it actually had a vevor sticker on it. I returned it and bought this for like 20 bucks less. It came coated in grease, but it cleaned up nice. Some small adjustments to the guide bolts and it works good. Not a totally precision device, but nice and sturdy. I'm pretty happy with it. I may build a plinth for it to bring the support out further to the front and stabilize the whole thing, and be able to adjust the height of the base. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I wasn’t expecting much but this thing is terrible. Just watch the video I shared. The biggest unfixable problem is that the ram does not come down straight. It’s out about 1/8” over 11”. That matters. Especially if your pressing in bearings. Every single part of the spindle that contains the pinion gear was either undersized or oversized. The most being .040”. Absolutely ridiculous. I think this machine could be good if they spent a few minutes dialing in their machines and fixtures. If you’re going to machine something why not do it properly. I ended up returning it. I thought about matching sleeves to fix the slope in the spindle but the ram coming down at an angle was too much to deal with. ... show more

Put the little press together, found no damage. It was clean but heavily oiled, no rust, no ridges or 'horns' that need grinding. Red paint 'No. 1' was good. Did get two pointed drifts instead of a round, but can grind that down. Vinyl gloves, cleaned up with cloth rags, mineral spirits. A little play solved with a plastic shim. It is square. I plan to use this for hobbies, mainly leatherwork--stamping, fastening hardware, where b4 I hammered. Maybe some automotive, misc. It's a sturdy, chunky little cast iron monkey, but easy to move around. Very satisfied with the delivery and product. ... show more

It is not packaged very well, and the cast iron hand wheel came broken. Handling during shipping must be too rough for the way it is packaged. Had to order a new hand wheel. Also, I may bore out the casting that works the ratchet and holds the handle. It is a bit loose on the large gear toothed shaft that operates the ram and flops around too much. I might machine and press in a thin bushing into that casting to create a new bearing surface that is a better fit. Or, as a pattern maker, I might just make a whole new iron casting and machine it properly. I think with some modifications, it might work very well. But it's not perfect right out of the box. ... show more

When I got it the press had rust on the top part and shaft if the slide. The whole thing was covered in dust and dirt, so much that it blacked my fingers just from handling it. The lock screw hole had been drilled but not tapped and so the screw didn't go in at all (it wasn't even close to being a big enough hole). Overall I was pretty disappointed. I refunded it and opted to not get a replacement after that experience. ... show more

Everything else works great but the bad thing is the ram is not square with base. Sent e mail to vendor with picture. They won't answer it. Tried calling them, I didn't want to be on hold for hours. I was 16 in line. I can't be on hold all day. Looks like I am stuck with a bad arbor press. Guess I will scrap it and buy a harbor freight press. I got an email from Vevor that they have canceled my ticket and wanted me to rate their customer service. There is nothing to rate because they did nothing but cancel my ticket, whatever that means. There was no customer service. There is a Facebook page called Vevor is a scam company. Check it out. ... show more
