I'm not sure how 100+ lb box gets free shipping for a $150 product. The welding, paint, and components are all quite good. The webbing underneath that supports the wheels is far from square, but it doesn't matter in this application and close enough is perfect. The shouldered bolts that hold the turn table to the assembly could really use some quality control and the way it's attempted to remedy is laughable, showing the utter lack of quality control. In short, a correctly sized washer per skate is the fix and the whole thing works quite well.     • Watch every roller as moving, double check often, slow
OK alway thiught these would be great for mill and lathe moving. Current pallet jack is cumbersome, these seemed more flexible. All seemed well but started seeing slide off on one or two of them more in turns but also straight rolls. Hadca lathe on four until on slipped loose making 2000lb lathe tip half over. Had to use a cherry picker to upright. The top swivel is too smooth to stop sliding out. They need stopper pins in the top to prevent this. I plan turning a plate thatcsits on top with rough knurl surface and four drop in pins to prevent total slide off. Rolls nice and a simple steel rod turns the direction.     • Not an easy solution to move a milling machine

Let me start with the problems with this product. 1. The top 5.5 inch steel disc on each skate is slippery. 2. The top discs are flat, allowing your moved item to slip off the disc. It should have shoulders on edge. 3. The skates turn independently of each other when you push. 4. There is no rubber disc to prevent slippage as you might expect. First try moving my mill: This product is certainly heavy duty. I put my 3000 pound mill on 4 of the skates. I had to change to 3 skates because my concrete is not flat enough and one of the skates kept slipping out. The bottom of the mill is flat cast iron. The "non-slip" surface of the skate is a flat steel disc with some grooves cut in it. I wouldn't call this non-slip. There is no rubber pad as you might expect, not even little tabs around the edge of the round top disc like a floor jack has to keep the mill from sliding off the disc. I almost had one slide out from under the machine. Second try: I've seen videos where they use these and I can tell you that it's not that easy. I put a rubber pad on the skate to see if that helped and it did. The problem now is that when I push the mill, each skate turns independently of the other and when they do, the mill stops rolling. I noticed in the videos that there are usually 2 guys pulling with a bar hooked on to two skates. I can see where that would help,, but the two skates in the back are still going to turn independently of each other. Third try: I solved the problem with the rear skates turning independently of each other by connecting them with a steel rod. That did work and the skates more or less stayed under the machine with the rubber pad. Any way you look at it though, you're going to need more than one guy to use these things, if you can get them from turning independently at all. Fourth try: Now, having moved the mill 2 feet in the last hour, I have to turn it to get it where I need it. The problem is that again, the skates turn independently and also, the pad on top with the ball bearings under it so that it rotates, doesn't rotate as easily as you'd expect and the mill sliding off the skate is more likely than having the top to spin. So here I am, with no access to a fork lift and a 3000 pound mill that I've managed to move about 2 feet in the past hour by prying, lifting and repositioning the skates hoping that they won't slip out in the process. If you're trying to move heavy equipment I'd look for something else to do the job. I think I'm going to try a pallet jack instead. I'm positive that will work perfectly. Sure. I was impressed with the packaging though. They came in a wooden box and were VERY heavy. Great packaging! ... show more

All would've been well with these, but for one incorrect bearing installed in one of the rollers. Should you choose to purchase these, please inspect them carefully before placing into service. Other than the one bearing, they appear to be substantial in construction, and were carefully packaged in a wooden crate. Amazon CSR was very helpful and understanding in facilitating their return.
