I love how you can organize the shoulder straps and even carry the bag backpack style. The compartments and pockets allow me to easily keep things organized. This is the 2nd Vertx bag that I have purchased. I also have the large range bag. Both items are of good quality materials and construction. It is very easy to organize and great for travel because of the many storage pockets.

More expensive, but worth it for my application. Where I see this slotting in the bag world in a big way is that most duffles offer little to no organization or compartmentation. Couple that with this bag’s ability to be carried backpack or cross shoulder style and you’ve got a real winner. Further upgrades for me are the Velcro panels that in future will allow further organization via holsters etc. the hidden rifle compartment just takes it over the edge for me. What an awesome bag. I would recommend the 85L as it’s still very manageable size and ups your capacity for only $30ish more. The materials seem very tough and the clips on the straps come off and on super fast. I spent days looking for a duffle that organized like a backpack while being able to be carried like a backpack as well. Here it is... the winner. ... show more

Love the bag! Only wish it had dual short straps like a traditional gym bag. Don’t have much use for the oversized flap that lies flat when unzipped. Some mentioned using as a clean place to clean a gun - stupid idea. Others said change your shoes on it - no thanks.other than these two gripes it’s my favorite duffel bag. I roll with my 10.5” fully collapsed and have enough room for mags, ammo, and couple change of clothes. Boots sit straight up with plenty of room do a uniform. For a night getaway to a work week getaway. Keep your stuff organized and what needs to be locked and discreet is so. I was on the fence with 5.11 xrat but in my older age this best serves me with a supplemental bag for cameras,laptops,tablets and more. Options are good as well as contingency plans.

Updated to 4 stars: I can't speak in terms of the longevity of the product but it seems to be very well built. Quality materials and stitching. If it DOES rip any time soon I will demote the rating to 2 stars. Even tho I do not like the fact that the main compartment was smaller than described, I managed to fit everything I wanted into the bag. I do wish that there was a pocket on the lid opening to hold stuff like glasses or light breakable stuff. I got the 85L but it feels like I got the 45l. Main compartment dimensions are stated in the item description on the Vertx website and on the infographic on the Amazon description as 29". Picture shows that it is less than 2 feet(21"). I could not fit a (30" overall length) mossberg Shockwave 18 into the side sleeve for long guns without putting it at an angle, and it still pokes at least 3" into each side compartment and prints. Aka: it's very obvious you are carrying a long item in your bag. So the longest compartment(the side gun sleeve) isn't even a full 29". The stated dimensions are a little misleading. Also, even if you do manage to stick your gun into the side sleeve, the bottom of the bag isn't padded enough to protect a gun or optics from slamming into the ground. It may protect from scratches, but not straight up impact into concrete. Keep that in mind. This isn't a hard bottomed bag. This bag would 100% be worth it if it was actually as big as described. ... show more

Sits in the car ready for emergency, perfect for flights and get away weekends The concealed firearm pockets work well Wouldn't want to hike long distance but it definitely fits the bill for preparation
