I amended my review below because the seller read about the defective powerpack I received and they reached out on their own and replaced it for free. Really wonderful customer service and the new powerpack works great! Like I said originally, the jacket itself is really great - stylish, light, thin, and pairs really great with any winter gear. And it's incredibly warm and convenient when it's cold outside. I regularly walk and hike in the winter, typically doing between 3 and 5 miles on an average day in temps ranging from about 22 degrees to 40 degrees and the jacket keeps me incredibly comfortable and warm even at just the medium setting. I HIGHLY recommend this jacket to anyone who's prone to feeling cold in the winter or who spends a lot of time outside in the cold! Original review: I've purchased two of these jackets from Venustas, one as a gift for my father to unwrap this Christmas and one that I bought for myself and have been wearing for the past few weeks. I love the look of them - they're thin, fashionable, and comfortable and, when they work, they're great and keep you warm through just about any weather. The problem isn't with the jacket itself but with the included powerpack. The powerpack that came with my jackets is from a company called Awei and, for the first few days, it worked great. It's a thin powerpack and fairly lightweight for its capacity. But after using the powerpack in the jacket about three times (for about an hour each time), it no longer powers the jacket. I tested to see if it was the jacket itself or the powerpack by plugging in another powerpack I had at home to charge my cell phones with it that one worked fine and the jacket turned on like normal. Then I tested the Awei powerpack to see if it would charge something else - my Bluetooth cell phone earbuds and it worked for that, but now the Awei powerpack emits a quiet hum and it won't charge much else besides the earbuds. I tried using it to charge my cell phone and it won't do that and, like I mentioned at the start, it won't power my Venustas jacket anymore. So the jackets themselves are great but the powerpacks Venustas ships them with aren't. I haven't tested the one in the jacket I bought for my father but I will see what happens with that one once he gets it for Christmas and uses it a few times. ... show more

    • Amazing customer service, awesome jacket!

I purchased this jacket the first week of January and have to say it is probably one of the best things I've ever bought. It's very comfortable, light weight, & of course it's warm. Depending on how much it's used, the battery will hold a charge for most of the day but charges pretty quickly. It also turned out to be a really good conversation starter with random people as most are curious about the ring light on the front... so if you're into having random conversations with strangers about your jacket then definitely consider this! A few days after receiving my order, I got an email from Venustas customer service checking-in to make sure I was happy with the jacket & answer any questions, which I think shows a strong focus on customer satisfaction. Around mid-February the jacket started shutting off during the 5 minute preheat cycle. Even with the jacket off it's still very warm, so I thought the temperature ring light was broken but definitely on. I sent an email to Venustas customer service Friday afternoon & got a reply the next morning. They worked quickly to resolve my issue, sending a new battery. Ultimately they had to replace the jacket. The time it took to for a final resolution was pretty quick. Each email I sent to them received a reply within 24 hours, which is absolutely acceptable. Dealing with such a responsive company that stands behind its product has been very refreshing! The only "negative" feedback I can think to share is that the sleeves could be just a little bit longer, maybe half an inch? When the battery pack is in the inside pocket it feels a little "bulky" & makes the left outside pocket a bit tight, it's not obnoxious or even a negative really. If the battery sat just a bit higher on the torso that would help. I do wish there were more products available for men in XS sizes, & would love to see some Gray color options. Because of the good quality and more importantly awesome customer service, I have & will continue to recommend this jacket & will absolutely be buying from them again! Bought 3 of these as Christmas gifts to my daughter and family. They all fit perfect and there was enough charge in the batteries to heat them up. They love the coats. I tried one on and could not believe how these warm up, providing evenly distributed heat to the upper body. Now my wife and I are thinking maybe we need one for each of us. I gave it a 4 because you need to recharge after each use-- I wear it for about 3-4 hours daily with the heat on. The jacket itself is very nice, looks to be high quality and nice design. The heat is moderate, you dont want burning hot.
