    • Difficult to install/crystals are sharp!
I really like most everything. The chord gets in the way sometimes and the crystals are sharp and can hurt on your hands or catch clothing...and it was a bit tough to stretch to fit. But, love the warmth that comes on right away. And I look forward to getting into my cold car!

    • Barely warm along with several other problems

I am very disappointed with this product. Problems: 1. It barely gets warm, and it only does that in two small spots. 2. It sheds; I get black threads on my hands and clothes when I drive. 3. I don't have a large steering wheel, so I assumed the "one size fits all" would fit. Not only was it very difficult to get on, but it only covers half the the steering wheel so that you are touching both the fabric and the steering wheel at all times with an uncomfortable thickness change and sharp lip. 4. I accidentally pulled out the cord where it connects to the steering wheel. Because of the overly stretched fit, I can't figure out how to plug it back in to receive even the minimal comfort of the two warm spots. ... show more

    • Do not leave this plugged in while you’re driving.
This heats well, though it takes a little longer than stated. I let my car warm up on the driveway for 5-10 mins in the wintertime before leaving for work, and I plug this in and let it heat up while the car is in park. Do not leave this plugged in while you’re driving or it will get tangled up in your steering column when you turn the wheel! I disconnect it from the cord when I’m about to put the car in drive. (If only someone could invent a wireless heated steering wheel cover!) the cover itself is a little big for small hands, but I don’t think there’s any way around that with a steering wheel cover. The fur still retains enough warmth even when disconnected, and it’s certainly a whole lot better than an ice cold steering wheel in the freezing temperatures. I lost a lot of weight and began getting Reynaud’s phenomenon when the temps dropped (this is when your fingers and toes go numb from the cold), and this steering wheel cover has really helped me this winter. ... show more

    • Jesus Take the Wheel until it Warms Up

I live in Wisconsin and there are winter days that my steering wheel is so cold that it hurts to touch it. I bought this steering wheel in hopes that it would help my hands not to hurt and it does the trick. It takes a few minutes to warm up, but the cover itself is not as cold as a bare steering wheel. I really like that the plug-in comes where it plugs into the steering wheel and it sticks out a bit so that prevents the cord from going around the base of the wheel. If it does, it is easy to unplug. ***Please note that this puppy is hard to put on the steering wheel. It's not a bad thing because you want it to be a tight fit and it is. I recommend letting it heat up for 10 minutes and then put it on. You don't really need any tools, but I used a butter knofe to get it over the last portion of the wheel. It heated up well the first time I used it and now it doesn’t work at all and I’ve used it for less than a week. It is difficult to install, like others say, but it is supposed to be a tight fit so it makes sense. It doesn’t slide on the wheel itself, as it has a nice rubber lining inside the cover, but the outside feels almost like a suede which has a little bit of a slickness to it but it hasn’t slipped out of my hands yet.     • More cons than pros, but haven't found a better solution

PROS: It works to heat the steering wheel. It fit my 2011 Toyota Sienna XLE wheel. CONS: - Difficult to install. You MUST heat it up and stretch it around the steering wheel. Even after warming up, you need strong fingers to stretch it - it is a tight fit (as it should be). - You can't use it while driving unless you don't have to make turns. It is hazardous to drive with it plugged in while turning -- the cord can get tangled and lock your steering wheel. - You can warm up the steering wheel before driving, but once it is unplugged, the warmth goes away immediately. It does not remain warm after unplugging (though it may have taken the extreme chill off the wheel). - It's a hassle to manage the cord even when it's not plugged in. It can still tangle around the steering column and cause problems/distractions while driving. I have to loop it around and around my steering wheel to keep the cord manageable. The cord plugs into the cigarette lighter and connects to a converter inside the tight-fitting steering wheel cover, making it nearly impossible to access to unplug from the device. A battery operated version that doesn't require a cord would be more useful, but I haven't found any well-rated options. So until the polar vortex is over, I will probably still use this despite the cons. ... show more

It took a lot of pulling and stretching to get it over the wheel (Honda Pilot). Fingers are sore. I'm just an average-strength guy, so ymmv. The cord is so short that if I turn the steering wheel all the way around, it disconnects. I ordered a coiled cord on ebay, maybe that will help. It does put out some heat, but I hoped it would be warmer. It should still be nice to have. Edit: After driving for a few more hours without gloves on, I can feel the heat better.
