Works well. Very Easy to assemble. Very stable. This is a great aid to assist the elderly and others who have become physically infirm to safely get on/off the commode. As long as all of the screw knobs are attached tightly, it is very solid and secure. The maker claims it can support up to 300 pounds. I don't doubt that, because the parts are steel, not aluminum. The cross-member that connects the left and right halves is at the base of this appliance. This placement doesn't block the toilet lid in any way. Other assistance appliances have the cross-member positioned at the back, up high, which, depending on your commode/tank design, may obstruct the lid from being fully opened and out of the way. Depending on how much the person who uses this weighs, I would recommend that the screw knobs be checked (and retightened) every couple of months or so. It's only as solid and sturdy as the screws are tight. These types of hand-tightened screws do tend to work loose over time, so make it a practice to check them regularly. Be safe. Also, everybody tends to get locked in to this being used only in bathrooms, but it can be used with any chair...dining room, family room, living room, patio, etc.

I was going to need help getting on and off the toilet as I was going in for surgery on my leg and it would be in a full non weight bearing cast for 6 weeks. The biggest complaint in the reviews I found, was it was too heavy, that is what i wanted. I ordered it to come 2 weeks before the surgery. Easily put together and easily used to get up and down one legged. I have now had it for about 5 weeks and I am very happy I got it. Easily removed if desired and easy to put together. Very Happy with the purchase.

The product was purchased following a surgery. It has an all metal frame. It was quick and easy to assemble. The frame was easy to remove when needed because it sits in front of the toilet frame instead of behind the toilet seat. It has padded handles on each side which provided comfort when standing. The frame is extra wide giving additional room to move when some units tend to be very narrow. There is a removable magazine rack on the side of the unit. The paint color is an off white/ almond color. Very pleased with the purchase and would buy again.

Nice helper to get off the toity. Lol. Seems sturdy but we also had to get a toilet riser to help them get up off the toilet. Both worked great together. 👍

This product is of excellent quality. It is easy to assemble and very sturdy which is very important. Height adjustment is also great. If there's one thing I would bring to your attention it would be that the measurement between the hand rails is very narrow, 23 inches (it's very tight for any kind of movement if you know what I'm taling about). My older unit that I had had a 26 inch width between hand rails which is very evident when using the toilet. Great product, just make sure to check all measurements.

The only problem I have is stubbing my toes on the bars at floor level when I’m barefoot. I put a little bit of closed cell foam over them and fixed the problem

Much better than the old bars that attach to the seat. This just sits independent to the toilet. Very solid and stable. Adjustable heights

This is our second purchase of this item. Having the adjustable height is very handy. However, this one had apparently been returned or opened previously and one of the pipe end caps was missing. It is too much trouble to return just for that and this is the reason for the three star rating. So be warned, if you can tell package has been resealed, some parts may be missing. Other than that, quality of item is very good and had all the parts been there would rate it five star.
