So I purchased this safe with the intention of having it on my nightstand and being able to quickly access my gun should I need to. While it would be quicker to just leave it at my bedside, with a new child being born, I don't want to run the risk of something happening and that's where this safe comes in. Before this I had a cheap Snapsafe that for some reason won't shut all the way and the top lid doesn't sit flush, meaning someone could easily access my gun without much force. Yes any safe can be broken into with time, but the more work the thief has to do, the less likely they are willing to take the risk. In any case, upon inspecting the safe, the quality is so much better and I love how much space it has within. It easily fits my 365 XL with the 15 extended magazine and I have space for another compact size handgun or some extra magazines. It looks like it could fit a full size as will but you'd have to fit it in diagonally. I'll update this section of the review once I try fitting my other handguns. Programming a pass code is very simple and the instructions included are very straight forward to follow. The key pads light up red as soon as they are touched or moved, something that will be very helpful in the middle of the night when you're trying to open it. They are very responsive and the safe opens very quickly with the lid opening all the way. There is a light within the safe to let you see and you can bolt the safe down or use the included steel cable to tie it down. Another feature that I wasn't aware of is that holding the certain key pad numbers for a few seconds allows you to turn off light, turn off proximity sensors (helpful for when the safe is in a car), check whether someone has tampered with the safe manual keys and key pad, and check the status of the battery. The safe comes with a rechargeable battery, cable lock, 2 sets of keys, and a charging cable, but no charging adapter despite the pictures stating that it comes with a charging kit. This is one of the main reasons why I have docked 2 stars because if the description and picture states that it comes with something, then it should. Yes everyone has a charger but now a days phones come with usb-c adapters and this uses a usb-a adapter. If you have one then you're good, but if you don't then you have to buy an additional accessory when it says that includes it already. Another reason is that I haven't had enough time to try out the safe and I'm only going based off of my 1st impressions. Overall I like the safe a lot and believe it will serve for the main purpose I purchased it, but I have a problem with something not being included when it stated that it was. ... show more

This is a great little gun safe. I love the rechargeable battery (great battery life) and interior LED light. It is actually pretty heavy and feels solid/great quality. The keypad will light up if you barely brush against it but has a nice punch/positive tactile feel when you enter the code. I was able to fit a Glock 23 and SW 380EZ in this safe, but did not have room for extra mags with 2 guns in there. You can fit a single 4" semi-auto pistol inside a IWB kydex holster and extra mags no problem. If you are thinking of using this to secure a firearm in checked luggage, be aware it is heavy. Since ammunition has to be unloaded from magazines you will only be able to fit a 25 round box in here along with a gun and extra magazine (50 round box wont fit). I am considering getting the Vaultek Life 2.0 for checked luggage travel as it is 2" longer and lighter (no rechargeable battery though, 9 volt). ... show more

I was looking for a fast access pistol safe for my new gun, and I wanted it portable, but solid. After reviewing dozens of safes, the one common problem I noticed were dead batteries,and lost keys. I also saw many failures with fingerprint readers. I got the VE10.This safe fits my needs perfectly. It was easy to set up, program, and it fits my new pistol plus the extra clip, and my other small 22 revolver. It came 3/4 charged, and it was fully charged in an hour. Its small size fits exactly where I wanted to hide it,and I could secure it to the surface its sitting on, but I might want to take it with me on trips. I understand that even if I let the battery die (which I don't intend to do)and if I misplace the keys, I can still charge it and it should open with the code,and if it doesn't I can order new keys from VAULTEK (be sure to register the safe and the keys) It's well built,solid,and opens fast. Hopefully I'll not have to use it in an emergency, but if I'm In the dark, the keypad is easily seen(just brush it with a finger) and the light inside is great when opened. Lastly the price point is great, not too cheap, not too expensive. So far I really like it and highly recommend! ... show more

Really reliable product, made with quality materials. The structure is made of steel, heavy with keyboard and rechargeable battery, 2 emergency keys and anti-burglary cable, micro USB cable for recharging. Inside you can insert either 2 subcompact or a full one, it has a very visible internal light. I'm happy with the purchase, a pity that in Italy it is difficult to find it on Amazon and the only one that is present costs twice as much as in the US, so I had to buy it from Amazon Us. Only one thing didn't exalt me and it's the cable a little too short, I would have expected one of a slightly longer length. But I still recommend the purchase ... show more

I would have given 5 Stars but they did not include a wall plug for the USB charging cable. Guess they think everyone has one !? Lucky, I did but had to take it off my phone charger. Good news is you donโ€™t have to recharge the unit everyday or week. Solidly built and nice features. Auto open after you put in your code, red lighted number keys and white LED light inside the unit are very nice ! Also, a hidden manual key port to override in case the lithium battery dies. (2) key are included and kudos in giving (2) instead of just one ! The cost is a bit more than other brands but it is worth paying for. 41/2 Stars โญ๏ธ ... show more

Just received my VE10 today, but liking it so far. Got the VE10 instead of the VE20 to save money, and it will fit under my car seat. Love the way the lid pops open automatically and has a light inside, and don't need waterproof, so didn't get a Lifepod. Assumed my 9mm would not fit inside the safe in its holster, but the foam lining compresses enough that the holster barely fits. Didn't think about needing a charger, since this only comes with a micro-USB to USB cable, but hopefull I have a 2A charger around here somewhere that will work. ... show more
