My hubby and I love the look of this belt and the easy to use ratchet design. The black matte design is classy and yet can be worn with anything. The fit was good, true to size and it feels very durable and heavyweight. The release tab under the buckle takes a little getting used to but once you learn how to use it, it works very well. A couple years ago, I purchased a ratchet belt for my husband, and he fell in love with the design and look of them. It was expensive, but it did last for several years. However, it was starting to get worn, and I started looking for a replacement. That's when I found the VATAN Men's Belt Leather Ratchet Belt. I have to say, I am fairly impressed! While the quality isn't as good as the original belt, the price difference more than makes up for it. Seriously, this belt is less than a third of the price I paid for that one! The ratchet mechanism is plastic, which I expect will wear over time at a rate faster than the more expensive belt that had metal ratchets embedded in the belt. The look of this belt is great too. A nice deep black color with a smooth matte black buckle - very clean and modern! In trying it on, the belt worked perfectly, ratcheting up to right where he needed it to be and staying there until it was removed. The lack of holes on this belt is great design element; over time, the holes tend to look worn and get out of shape and just destroy the look of a crisp, clean belt. I like the fact the belt is genuine leather, though not as high quality as our original belt. Again, that one cost three times the price, so the value of this belt at this price cannot be beat. Very impressed with this adjustable ratcheting belt in real leather. Very stylish too and goes well with most of my jeans. This belt is super adjustable and locks into place where you want it. You can sinch it down to your waist then you are working and do not want the bottoms of your pants dragging on the grown. The leather is thick and supple. The styling is classic and not too loud. Very quick and easy to fasten and tighten to fit. Just slides and locks in. To release and take the belt off you just need to pull a small lever. I got into ratchet belts a few years ago, and I can never ever go back. This one is really super nice—heavy leather, and comes with the buckle already attached at the 38” mark. The buckle is easy to remove in order to trim the belt down to size.
