  • Excellent value
Color: Silver
The rack is pretty easy to assemble. The instructions are a bit jumbled and are missing instructions to install the optional weight trees. However, switching out the 2 longer bolts used on the front uprights connecting the pull up bar with the smaller rear bolts on the floor support l was able to install the weight trees. Definitely a great deal. Just pay attention when assembling. Seems very solid and will work for all intents and purposes. Assembled height is 85.5". You will need about 96" head clearance to use the pull up bar. ... show more

  • Great Rack, a few considerations
Color: Orange
If you want a squat rack, a low-row/cable curl, a lat-pulldown/tricep-pushdown, a pull-up bar, and a place for bench press, then this product will be near the best you can do at this price point (I paid $370+ $30 for a landmine attachment). I already had a dedicated bench press setup, so I bought this for the squat mainly. So far I've had no problems using this for my lifts and I don't foresee any failure points. The rack came in two boxes with no damage. It was easy to set up and took me less than an hour. I set it up with a friend and he wasn't paying attention and over-tightened some of the bolts. Don't over-tighten the bolts. The steel is fairly soft and bendable. As I tightened the bolts with a small socket wrench, I never reached a point where the resistance felt substantially increased, so you just need to watch. In other words, the bolts won't ever feel like they are getting tighter, and you will need to be careful not to deform the steel. I'd say once you have .25 inch of the bolt sticking out of the nut on the other side, it's tight enough. If you see the steel is just starting to deform/slight bend, you are tight enough, but try to stop before that point. As others have mentioned, the rack is unstable laterally, i.e. if you push on the rack from the left or right side it will wobble side-to-side. I personally do not find this as an issue, as I do not intend to do anything that requires much lateral stability with the rack. When I use the cable system or use the rack for squats, there is no lateral sway or it is not an issue. If I do a pull-up on the rack, it may shake a small amount left to right under my force, though I can control it if I keep my force even and don't swing. If I try to do a dip on top of the pull-up bar (I have high ceiling in the garage), the shaking becomes too much when I try to balance. I don't foresee the lateral swaying worsening or becoming a problem. Just be aware, and only use the rack as it was intended. The cable system is good (I added Vaseline and it is smooth). I would recommend getting some different types of grip attachments for the cable system to get full utilization. I find the pull-up wide grip to be decent for me (I'm 6ft tall), although the close grip positions feel too thin and are not my spatial preference. It beats the door-frame pull-up bar I had been using. If it had a straight bar it would be more versatile for grip width placement, but I do like the angled wide grips. I enjoyed the attachments, specifically the weight pegs, the j-hooks, and the safety bars. The j-hooks are nice and I really wanted these instead of the peg style holders that some racks are sold with. The spring collars included don't work well due to their design (they stay on tight, but they are hard to take on/off because squeezing the handle does not release the tension in the spring very well. The dip bars are painful to use because they are so thin. Perhaps adding some foam grips from the store would make the dip handles more usable. I received a choice of free gift with my purchase and I selected a set of resistance bands and straps. They are actually decent and I really appreciate the gift. I also purchased the landmine attachment separately and I think it is excellent for landmine workouts. I bought two horse stall mats ($35 each) from tractor supply company and the rack fits perfectly on them. Overall great rack and met my expectations. The only negatives are the lateral sway if you want to do anything crazy on the pull-up bar (which will likely happen with all the racks of this same design at this price point), and some of the extras are not perfect (which wouldn't be included with other racks at this price point). Yes the steel is soft, but what do you expect at this price. If you want rock solid, spend more money. If you want a usable home squat rack / cable system, I give full-marks. ... show more

  • A lot of versatility for the price
Color: Orange
I bought this budget rack for the staff of a summer camp and it has not disappointed. Assembly took somewhere around 3-4 hours, was manageably complicated, and is definitely a two (or even three) person job. It has been used throughout the summer by a variety of adults, some of whom are serious college athletes. While I would hesitate to say it would be appropriate for the needs of a powerlifter, the 2-inch by 2-inch uprights are sufficiently sturdy for just about everyone else - it feels solid. The lat pulldown system and multi-grip pullup bar are particularly good components, and it's hard to beat all the added accessories provided: tricep rope, landmine t-bar, j-hooks, etc. Unfortunately, one of the dip bars bent under the weight of a 220-pound football player, but Vanswe immediately responded to my email and made it right - outstanding customer service. The one design element that I would change is its comfort for squats. The rack depth is a little shallow for larger bodies and if you've set your j-hooks at the back of the rack, as you typically would, you end up with one of the wires of the pulldown system against your face as you are racking and unracking the barbell. That said, you would be hard-pressed to get so much for such a reasonable price. ... show more

  • BUY IT !
Color: Red
amazing buy! compact enough, sturdy and well made for the price. looks great too (in red). can put 2-300 pounds on the squat rack the structure doesnt even move. I wouldnt know about 500 pounds, i dont squat this much , but if you do you may wana buy some professional equipment mate ! lol- this does feel professional enough to me for a home gym. I wish the top poullie was engeneered a little different for more angles as when i go away from the cage the cable rubs a little (like overhead tricepts extesions) other than that its truly value packed with useful accessories and option to train. Neat! ... show more
