I like the fact that it is wide and heat up easily. It glides easily through hair and does its job of either straightening or curling your hair. I am including 4 pix to show size comparison between 2" Vanessa roller and my existing 1" that's still working. I have long hair and wider roller is useful. I only used this hot roller once and hopefully will be able to use it again and again for many years if I don't return it. The issue: the power and temp buttons are located in the handle, where you are holding the roller, many times one of the buttons will get pressed, the power button will be okay since you need to press it for 3 seconds to power off. When you are dealing with the back of your head, getting one of these buttons pressed make you stop and check. I have decided to hold the roller on the back of the plate instead to avoid pressing the buttons, that is not going to happen. These areas are hot to the touch. From the picture you can see that they are thin (see pix one where you can see my pink hot roller is significantly higher thus providing you with great insulation). I am going to use it again one more time before making a decision whether I should keep it or not. Having dual voltage will be nice, but I have not tried this feature either. ... show more

I purchased one of these a few months ago and I use it everyday. I love it so much, I just purchased a second one to travel with. I love how the plates smooth out the texture of my hair and doesn't pull random strands of my hair. It only takes about 5-8 minutes to straighten my hair and I can do it in WAY less passes than any other straightner I have ever used (I've been straightening my hair for about 20 years) It also gets up to the temperature setting in less than a minute. My only suggestion for improvement would be if it could come with a case/bag for traveling. This product is a GREAT value for your money and in today's economy, not wasting money on poor quality products is super important to everyone. I never leave reviews. I have only one word for this flat iron…FLAWLESS. I am a licensed hairstylist and I have been doing hair and have used MANY hair tools for 35 years.
