However, if you're concerned about possible technical difficulties or the need for additional cooling, you may want to consider these factors carefully before purchasing.

  • So impressed!
Just received the steam deck today and already loving it. For shipping it was fairly standard nothing extravagant but I would have liked to see some form of foam or something to cushion the products. The case is very nice but slightly limiting on space. It’s intended for your steam deck and really nothing else. It’s well structured and durable. The steam deck its self is fantastic! Spent about 20 minutes updating it but otherwise sign in was easy with a QR code and quickly pulled my gaming library over. The track pads are such a nice addition to hand held. Easy to pick up and go and not really much of a learning curve. As well the steam deck is large! Not a bad thing, may be a struggle for some younger users but personally a huge relief for me. I love using my Nintendo switch but am always concerned about damaging it. Over all I highly recommend this product. ... show more

  • Worth it
The seller provided a great product with a case on it. Battery life sucks a bit but that is a product issue and I have a dock for it and a carry bag. Playing Hades and Sifu wherever I want is amazing. Worth every penny. Thanks!

  • DO NOT BUY. Aftermarket upgraded and not properly configured
They gave us a 64gb Steam deck with an aftermarket 512gb hard drive but the hardware is not configured to recognize this change. The steam deck acknowledges that it has the increased storage but the operating system still believes it to be at 64gb. Steam themselves have confirmed the serial number belongs to a 64gb. Also these types of changes void the manufacturers warranty and lack of proper reconfiguration can lead to issues such as excessive overheating. Ours is having issues with the volume increasing to max on its own when it runs hot. Seller did not reply for over a month until escalated through Amazon support. Seller is ignoring the complaints and simply repeating to contact Steam for the warranty, which they voided. Seller never rectified the issue and had to make BBB complaint to get refunded. ... show more

  • Steam Deck: A Portable Gaming PC That's Worth the Hype
The Steam Deck is a portable gaming PC that's been getting a lot of hype lately. And for good reason. It's a powerful device that can run a wide variety of games, from indie titles to AAA blockbusters. I've been using the Steam Deck for a few weeks now, and I'm really impressed with it. The performance is great, the controls are responsive, and the battery life is surprisingly good. I've been able to play games like Elden Ring, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Control without any problems. One of the things I like most about the Steam Deck is the versatility. It's not just a gaming device. You can also use it to browse the web, watch videos, and even do some light work. Of course, there are a few drawbacks to the Steam Deck. The biggest one is the price. The base model starts at $399, which is a bit steep for some people. Another issue is the limited storage space. The base model only has 64GB of storage, which isn't a lot if you plan on installing a lot of games. Overall, I think the Steam Deck is a great device. It's powerful, versatile, and portable. If you're looking for a new gaming PC that you can take with you on the go, the Steam Deck is definitely worth considering. Pros: • Powerful performance • Responsive controls • Good battery life • Versatile Cons: • Expensive • Limited storage space Verdict: The Steam Deck is a great device for gamers who want a powerful and portable gaming PC. It's not cheap, but it's worth the price if you're looking for a device that can do it all. Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars ... show more

  • It’s legit and the best way to get a deck in unsupported countries
It’s sad that Valve does not have an official shop on Amazon, but this is the next best thing! It’s a bit unfair for people giving a low rating based on the price alone. Especially considering that it’s the only option for us people from countries where valve doesn’t sell the deck. The product is great, definitely go for the 512gb version as the screen is amazing! Delivery was superfast with clear tracking info and the packaging ok as well One thing to note, the protective glass is in the box with the silicone case. It leant upon the inside part of the box, I couldn’t find it and bent the box to throw it out, which resulted in the breaking of the glass. But that’s on me. My biggest concern was it being not “legit” due to it being a third party reseller, but product is legit, shipping was fast, I recommend :) ... show more

  • Great purchase
Product arrived on time, with the screen protector and case placed on it. Screen Protector has no gaps or air spaces. Product worked perfectly out of the box, very happy with my purchase.

  • It's better to buy one officially from the Steam Website
When I opened everything, it quickly became apparent that the seller had already opened the product before despite no actual notice on the product page. Things to note; even though I ordered the 512 GB model, the case it came in did not match it (the dot in the logo should be blue, not grey), and the official Valve seal was replaced with a ziptie. When I first booted the Steam Deck, it refused to install steam, but luckily I found a fix by turning it off, pressing volume up and power, and booting the system under safe mode (select "boot manager" from the menu and choose the second option). The fact that I had this issue in the first place means that the seller factory reset my Steam Deck before sending it to me. Thankfully, the device itself was in an unused state (no scratches or fingerprints) and the correct memory model was sent to me. That being said, please, if you want to save yourself a lot of worry and headaches, buy it from the official source. ... show more

  • Made a great gift
I purchased this system as a gift for my son and he LOVES it. The system is as described, brand new in package and with the correct memory as described (I saw in other reviews where people got the wrong memory from what was ordered). I do recommend purchasing a cooling fan as they are known to over heat my son informed me (he had researched before I purchased the system). He enjoys all that he can do and play on this system and I am sure the gamer in your life will also enjoy the Steam Deck. ... show more
