Top Amazon Reviews

🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The Steam Deck seems to satisfy its users with its functionality, making it possible to play Steam library games on the go, similar to having a PC in their hands. The frustration lies with the occasional failure of power cords, which can lead to inconvenience, and there were some complaints about the cost when purchased from resellers. People from countries where both Steam and Amazon do not supply the deck might find this as an invaluable source, despite the high price. Praises include the fast delivery, large capacity, portability of the product, and excellent customer service.

Pros

  • 🎮 Portable and versatile gameplay with access to your existing Steam library
  • 🚀 Fast shipping, with some customers receiving their orders earlier than expected
  • 💽 Comes in multiple capacity options (512GB, 1TB)
  • 🌍 Great option for customers living outside of the US, where Valve may not sell the device
  • 🎁 Makes a great gift for gaming enthusiasts

Cons

  • 💸 High cost when purchased from third-party sellers
  • 🔌 Power cord can be faulty
  • 🥵 Known to overheat; may require purchase of a cooling fan
  • ⚠️ There were some complaints about refunds being less than expected

Should I Buy It?

If you are an avid gamer with an extensive Steam library and the desire for a portable gaming experience, the Steam Deck is a worthy consideration. However, be aware of potential issues with faulty power cords and overheating. Also, if cost is a concern, it may be worth waiting for stock availability from official retailers to avoid marked-up prices from third-party sellers.

  • Very happy with purchase
Long rambly review, and the picture quality is pretty trash, sorry in advance- I’m terrible at keeping things short and sweet. Longtime switch player, so a lot of my comparisons/views relate to the switch. Purchased from the seller BT-Wholesale. I initially meant to buy the OLED version (I misunderstood the listing and thought this was it, lol. Good old brain fog!) but realised after it shipped it was the LCD version that had been upgraded to 1TB. I didn’t wanna fuss over returning it and waiting even longer when I had been so excited to finally get one, I decided to keep the LCD one. The screen is significantly better than the LCD switch and I would say is almost on par with my switch OLED screen. The colours are vibrant and the screen gets much brighter than the LCD switch screen, which is what I assumed this screen would be like. The battery is significantly better than the LCD switch too, which I’m happy about, albeit less than the SD OLED battery is said to preform at, but it’s not a problem to me; I usually play my switch plugged in anyway, and I play this the same. I also have a battery pack holding case for on the go, so not a problem for me personally. The device works great after a minor hiccup; I had some issues with the physical controls not working at first, making me use the touch screen for the update and the update was not installing the first time (a restart helped the install go through on the second try and then the controls work fabulously since). My biggest “con” is the weight and positioning of the buttons (and the touchpad things) are definitely taking some getting used to coming from the switch which is significantly lighter weight, but that’s nowhere near a dealbreaker to me. I’m very happy with my purchase and it came with all accessories promised, though I have my own protective on-the-device case for it so I don’t use the silicone skin that came with it. I’d recommend this, and the seller, to anyone! I absolutely love my steam deck. ... show more

  • Dont be fooled by some.
I dont normally write reviews but I was compelled to do so seeing some of the reviews. First off yes this is a higher price than buying one from Steam themselves but having different ways to pay via Amazon makes it easier to do for some people. But that's neither here nor there. I purchased the 1TB version and got it rather quickly. Machine booted up and everything has worked flawlessly. I did in fact have the proper storage and received all the extra items that they said I would receive. All and all I am satisfied with the purchase so far, if anything else happens within the first month or two I will update the review if possible. ... show more

  • $600 Brick
Would not boot right out of the box. After several power cycles it finally booted. Once it booted everything was frozen. No buttons worked at all. No documentation provided at all. Everything I looked at online said to simply hit the “Steam” button or the “…” button to get started. Those did not work. After several more power cycles it went into “update” mode. It hung there for 2 days straight, never finishing. Now when it boots there is an error. This is a complete waste of a lot of money. I can’t believe it. Do they not product test these before selling them????? ... show more

  • GREAT CONSOLE
The Steam Deck got here early, this is a great alternative for the PC some games aren't compatible but otherwise it's still a great console with amazing controls I wish that valve sold these consoles at Walmart & Best Buy.

  • it's as it says it is
only complaint is the steam deck unit case is nothing but flimsy rubber. Like rubber gloves thin. Other than that, good deal.
