My Great Dane walks on these sheets and makes his nest without his toenails poking thru or damanging. There is not noted smell or odor. Its soft and stretchy, but wont pop off the corners of the bed which is nice. The quality is nice, it seems to be pretty stain resistant as well - considering I have toddlers spilling juice and eating snacks on the sheet that was a major plus.
