My sons, 5 and 6, love their walkie-talkies, but the ones they had took 4 batteries each. We had 3 so if I decided to join the fun, that was 12 batteries being used. So I started looking for rechargeable ones. These work essentially the same as the ones we had with a music button that simulates a phone call ring, volume buttons, flashlight, a power button, but one thing these have that their previous ones didn’t was an extra button that says MON (?) that creates some sort of staticky sound. I’m not sure what it’s for but they like it lol. I have to say the volume of these is very loud. When you first turn it on, they sound kinda terrible because the sound isn’t so good at a high volume but once you lower them, they’re very clear. I liked that we were able to turn their previous walkie-talkies to the same channel so we can use them all together. I’d like to say goodbye to the ones with batteries but it’s nice to have the backup option just in case. The charging port is located at the top so it’s easy to find and covered with rubber which is convenient so they can’t get stuff in there very easily. They’re relatively lightweight and these come with a lanyard, so you have the option to hang them around your neck for easy carrying. I am not a big fan of my boys having anything around their necks so I like that it also has the clip on the back so they can just hang them on their pants or clip them to their pockets. So far the batteries seem to last a decent amount of time and charging time is relatively quick so we’ll see how they hold up with two energetic boys, but so far we’re pretty happy with them. ... show more

This cute set can back up as a comm device between mom and the kids or simply for the kids to play and learn about radios. It is a fairly simple setup that the kids can usually figure out without directions in a short period of time. I would be concerned if they were dropped from more than say 5 or 6 feet or if they got wet. The range tested well to almost 200 meters on a hill with small obstacles. ... show more

We didn't take pics - most people know how walkie talkies work so that seemed obvious. The most important point to confirm is how great these walkie talkies are - they are fantastic! I tried them out w/ my 4 nieces/nephews to get the hang of how to use them and see if a wide variety of ages could easily operate the devices. We also wanted to test the bandwidth because we want to use them on our upcoming cruise. We got them so our family could keep in touch from various places on the boat. Everyone from my nephew who started kindergarten this year to my niece in the 8th grade had no problem getting the hand of these things - super user friendly design that works for all ages. They are small enough for my little nephew to hold and handle, no problem. They fit in a back pocket (be careful sitting down or you could damage the antena), a purse, fanny pack, whatever. The most amazing feature though is the exceptional range these things have - we tried them from our middle school long block from our house and had clear reception on several channels. It was super fun and really cool! These are going to be great for the kids to use playing in the woods behind our house. They'll be great to recall the kids when I want them home for lunch/dinner and they will definitely be perfect for our upcoming cruise. We gave these a test by driving up the street and seeing the distance they are able to reach. They only made it about 2.5 blocks until the connection got really fuzzy. They were very clear and would work really well for kids playing outside close by

The battery life is AMAZING. The call music note button/ring feature is awesome and grabs your attention. The voice is SUPER clear. I will suggest the further you’re away the sound will be less muffled. Love the fast usb C charging it’s lasted several days now of Labor Day vacation to the kids museum, all thru department stores, groceries. Never heard my daughter say such sweet things often since these walkies! They are SUPER light but feel well made. We tested the distance on the opposite side of the museum past a gift shop, tons of walls, and we were still able to hear clearly. It’s just a cute way for the tot to keep in touch without a cell or watch. Our tot takes one side w her everywhere and we have the other one. She can call from her room at night, etc etc. I will say please remember there are 22 channels and if you’re near a department store using walkies there’s a HIGH chance you may accidentally call someone else or hear from them. So if you’re at home no worries, but if you frequent a employee concentrated area you should consider mixing up the channels you pair together to avoid creepers listening😅. I ordered these for use in my warehouse and around the property. Or to give to my granddaughter. They work on our property, but don't do so well transmitting through the multiple layers of metal warehouse walls. I tried them while out in two cars with my son. They worked well until we got separated by some hills in the road. I felt they worked as well as a "real" adult pair of walkie talkies we used for caravaning about 10 years ago. Kids will love them. These work better than I expected. I'm not sure why several reviewers made comments about the charging cord. I had no issues charging these. We never depleted the batteries, so I'm unsure of overall battery life. 4 stars because they work as expected and are a good value at under $30 for the pair. But they are not adult quality 5 star units. But probably 5 star for kids! ... show more

My grandkids love playing around my house with these walkie talkies! They play hide and seek in teams. The sound quality is good but the distance is not that great. They like to go outside with them but doesn't always work well. I do like the recharging capability. I hate replacing batteries in kids toys! ... show more
