  • Screen flickering and going in-and-out
Size: 1.2M Style: Compatible with Thunderbolt 3 Devices
This cable was used to connect a Dell latitude 9510 laptop to to a Thunderbolt ultrawide Samsung monitor. The screen flickers in and out and is essentially unusable. I know there are lot of good reviews out there of this cable, but I can't seem to get it to work correctly. Edit 12/22/2020: Even worse and manipulative, please DO NOT TRUST THIS SELLER! Since this negative review initially, we have been pestered with multiple email solicitations to delete this review in return for a refund. This is dishonest and all too common on Amazon. It discredits the review system and allows manufacturers to manipulate reviews. I stand by my negative review. This product does not work for me. YMMV. This is a 4 ft passive 40gbps thunderbolt cable which is out of spec from the thunderbolt 3 specifications. By my understanding, they are only rated for up to 1 meter length and be passive while maintaining 40gbps speeds. I replaced this cable with a 1m cable from some other manufacturer, and it has worked flawlessly using the same laptop and monitor. ... show more

  • Excellent!
Size: 1.2M Style: Compatible with Thunderbolt 3 Devices
I have a Razer Core X eGPU enclosure with a Radeon 5600 XT card. Anyone with this enclosure knows the cable is ridiculously short (1.5ft). I was really going after a 2m cable, but I was reading enough reviews on those that made me concerned about dropped throughput and poor quality. So, I settled on this based on the reviews. I can't comment on longevity yet. But, my initial impression is solid. On MacOS, I used CL!ng (a GPU benchmarking app in the App Store) to test the throughput from host to device, and from device to host. After about 10 tests, I can confirm that this cable gives me equal (actually slightly better!) throughput as the original cable that came with my Razer Core X. It's giving me a very stable connection. The material seems very good, the physical connection is good, with very little wiggle on both the eGPU and my Macbook connection. And, with the throughput test, on most tests, I was getting about a half Gbit/s HIGHER throughput with this cable than the puny original 1.5ft cable that came with the Razer Core X!) Great job, Maxomar. Nice cable, at a great price. ... show more

  • Excellent cable, you get your money's worth
Size: 6.6Ft Style: Compatible with Thunderbolt 4 Devices
Recently purchased the Maxonar cable to replace my old thunderbolt cable. I have used it for few days now and sharing my feedback Pros: 1. Durable braided build quality - it seems that it will last for years 2. Charging speeds for MacBook is fast, as good as the Apple cable that came with MacBook. I am able to use it with Apple charger and non-apple charger. In both cases there was no slowness in charging speeds. 3. I am able connect to an external 34" 4K monitor 4. Data transfer speeds are extremely fast. I tested this with 2020 type c Samung T7 drives. 5. Premium finish and packaging 6. Lifetime product warranty - is re-assuring to see the lifetime warranty note in the packaging Cons: So far I am very happy with the purchase. Based on my use if I find any flaws, I will update this review in the future. ... show more

  • Sturdy cable, thick & braided
Size: 4Ft Style: Compatible with Thunderbolt 4 Devices
Having this cable really is for future-proofing. So far I've tested this cable charging my 16" MacBook Pro charging, and it does 100W properly. I've used and tested a SanDisk Extreme Pro external USB-C SSD, and its speed with this cable is maxing out the USB 3.1 spec of the drive (950MB/s read, 931MB/s writes). I can only say that it is providing at the very least usb 3.1 speeds and 100W charging, and this is sufficient for my needs right now. With nobody really having Thunderbolt4 devices out and available, having this cable around simply means cross-compatibility when the future need arises! Compatible with TB4, TB3, USB4, and USB-C of previous gen...so theoretically should work with everything. It comes with velcro cable tie & its connectors are a sturdy strong thick metal encasing; and it is braided for durability. ... show more

  • Quality upgraded cable
Size: 4Ft Style: Compatible with Thunderbolt 4 Devices
I bought a Maxonar Thunderbolt 3 cable a few months ago, and just got this upgraded Thunderbolt 4 cable. The new cable looks identical to the old one except for the number 4 under the Thunderbolt logo (see photo) and feels like the same quality and durability. I don't have any Thunderbolt 4 or USB4 devices to test the cable with, so I used it to connect my 2016 15-inch MacBook Pro to my BenQ PD2720U 4K monitor, both of which only support Thunderbolt 3. As expected, it works the same as the Thunderbolt 3 cable (4K@60Hz and charges my MacBook Pro), but it's nice to have the new cable for futureproofing if/when I get devices that support Thunderbolt 4. ... show more

  • Solid Thunderbolt 4 cables
Size: 4Ft Style: Compatible with Thunderbolt 4 Devices
These cables work well and appear well constructed. At four feet in length, their price is comparable to many Thunderbolt 3 cables that are 1 meter or only 3 feet long, but Thunderbolt 4 offers greater compatible and must adhere to higher standards, and I get a longer cable with Maxonar. I cannot comment as to the cables' long-term durability since I have had them for only about one week, which is not nearly long enough to know how they will withstand the test of time. I have one caveat: I initially purchased these cables to connect my M1 iPad Pro to a Thunderbolt dock with pass-through charging. I usually keep my iPad within a folio-keyboard case. Unlike Apple's cases, the one I use provides full protection including along the iPad's sides. Although the Maxonar cables connect to my iPad when outside the case, the cable ends are too large to fit through the opening on my case and connect to my iPad when inside the case. I since tried other cables and find this is a common issue with apparently many Thunderbolt 4 and Thunderbolt 3 cables with the larger style cable connectors. It is possible these larger cable ends currently are necessary in order to comply with Thunderbolt 4 standards so I cannot fault Maxonar on the use of these larger connectors. ... show more
