    • Switch works, but EDID feature did not work for my Windows 10 and 11 machines

I already had a KVM switch, but was tired of my windows always being moved/rearranged to one of my monitors each time I made a switch to that PC. Windows 11 has the capability to restore windows to their original position when the connection to a monitor is lost and reestablished, but I didn't find this consistent. Sometimes it would not work. With EDID, the KVM switch should retain the monitor connection so that Windows doesn't think the connection is lost. My testing indicated that this was not happening. Maybe it works with other operating systems, but it was not working while switching between my Windows 10 and 11 machines. I also purchase a KVM switch from this same manufacturer with Display Port connections. That KVM switch claimed to have EDID support as well, but it also didn't work for me. What I did find that worked the best was to use a software solution. I installed the latest version of PersistentWindows, which is free, and that worked for me. After the switch, I see my windows on the wrong monitor and within 1-2 seconds they get moved to the correct monitor. It's a short delay that I can certainly live with. Thus, I went back to my old KVM switch and am just using the software solution and that is working for me. ... show more

Used this switch to connect two desktop computers (Windows 7 and a Windows 11) to a single monitor, keyboard and mouse. Takes just a second to switch between the two systems and all items work perfectly. It does not have a way to handle switching the audio outputs, so you'll need a separate computer audio switcher for that if that's important to you. The included small remote switch button is a nice plus, as I can keep the box and all those cables hidden behind the monitor. ... show more

If you’re looking for something that gets the job done and for an affordable price than this is for you! Everything has worked well and I have had no issues. It also came with a button extender so you don’t have to reach under your desk every time you want to change PCs.
