The short story is that these are what you'd expect (and that's a good thing): USB A male to USB C female adapters. They work, they're low-profile, and the price is right. Among other places, I tried one in a powered USB hub, and it works fine for powering a higher-end headphone amp DAC and for charging my iPhone. The longer story is that these adapters (and the ones going the other direction - USB C - A) are as important to have around as... I dunno, pens. It's 50/50 whether the USB the cable you have has the right plug - especially if you're on an airplane and want to charge your phone. I wish the electronic accessory world would make up its mind - I have devices that only take USB C's and chargers and batteries that only take USB-A's, and then some that are the opposite. That's why it's such a necessity to have a few of these around (and extras for when other people steal them) ... so this is a bargain and a G*d-send.
