I like that there is a short wire/cable to take some stress off the ports. Thie allows the cable to lie on the desk and puts little stress on the ports. So far, they are working fine. It's either a bit too short or too long for my iMac. When I plugged it into my iMac, the wire insert portion into USB plug was bent on the table surface and the covering started to crack. I wish this connecting wire was either one inch longer or shorter, so that there would be no bend of the USB cable as it sat on the table surface. I bought a new USB cable that could withstand the bend and now I have no issues with the cracking of the cable. So the adapter itself works fine. Nowadays, I can find better deals on USB-C cables and chargers, so this is a great way for me to continue using my older Apple iPhone but take advantage of the more powerful and faster USB-C charging. I needed an adapter like this one because my new MacBook pro has only "c" ports. I do voice over recordings and my mic cable has a usb end. I started having trouble with my mic input disappearing. I finally traced it to this one simple piece. The new adapter fits snugly into the "c" port. VERY precise engagement ending ALL problems with my mic connection.
