  • Neat toy
Style: Astro GX
My son loved playing with this!

  • Pretty cool!
Style: Astro GX
Got this for my almost 6 year old. Much to my dislike he is fascinate switch weapons and battles. Ugh! I don't like guns in general, but the rule in our house is, if you have a toy gun, it must only be pointed and shot at a target (never at another person). This fit the bill, and my son was soooo excited to open it! So, if you dislike guns like me, but your kiddo begs you for nerf guns, etc...this is a great compromise. It was easy to set up (even if I inadvertently put the stickers on the targets backwards at first - lol). The floating ball targets are a really cool concept and make this different than other toys like it. And the floating targets are def more challenging! I had to give to a try too, so it was fun to play together. You can tune the sound off, which is great after the umpteenth time you've heard the sound effects. We have yet to try it in the dark. I think that may be a step as my son gets older and more advanced. I have a feeling he and his older cousins (11 & 14) may be doing it with him soon too. One note, my son is starting to get the hang of it, but it was really hard for him to "load" the gun at first. Holding it with two hands and pulling back with force was difficult for his little hands. He's starting to get the hang of it, but still asked for helps sometimes. ... show more

  • Cute concept, works fine and COMES WITH USB cord. ATTACH TUBES TO AIRHOLES BEFORE TESTING!
Style: Green AstroShot Zero GSX
I ordered three different versions/brands of this target toy and this is the one I chose to keep to gift and also to purchase a second unit as a gift. Both are being given to 8-yr old boys. The main difference in the units I tried is that this one, in addition to running on batteries, also comes with a USB cable to not only avoid battery usage, but also to provide better, more consistent power to the fan. Please note that in testing, I first made the mistake others have, in trying to set the balls atop the air holes without first attaching the tubes, which does not work as the balls immediately fly away. Once I followed directions (🥴), it worked fine. The guns aren’t “nerf” fantastic but are fine for the intended use. If you want more distance/power, alternative nerf guns could be used, of which my grandsons own many. I do foresee the possibility of the small styrofoam balls getting lost or possibly smashed but extras are included. For the low cost of the item, I think fair enough. I bought these in a deal at about half off retail. I don’t think I’d pay much more for these but at less than $10 each, totally worth it. ... show more

  • overall, pretty fun

fun toy... the balls fall out of the stream of air fairly easy if there is any other air movement going on, but over all the kids are having fun :)

  • Cool toy! Downside: It arrived in its own box.
Style: Green AstroShot Zero GSX
What we really did not like about this item, is that it arrived in its own box and the labels were slapped all over the nice product box. This was a gift from Santa, so this was a huge disappointment for packaging labels to be ON the nice box. AND it wasn't hidden when it arrived, so if our son would have seen it on our stoop, we would have had to do something different from Santa. Perhaps this product warns you about this; I didn't notice anything when I ordered it. It IS a cool little toy! My son is 6 and loves the little nerf guns that it comes with; easy to cock and shoot. It's fun that you can play with another person (two guns). It runs on batteries, but also has a USB power cord but the cord is very short. If you play against the wall, no problem using the cord. I would purchase this for someone else as a gift. But I would make sure they cannot see it when it arrives! ... show more
