    • Go No Further! This is the insulation your garage door needs!
For starters, the personal service offered by owner Mike Davis is superb! The product instructions are clear, concise and easy to follow. And they work like a charm! The package contains four 18 foot rolls which are light, and easy to cut with a scissors or enclosed knife. ( I preferred using a regular scissors which made clean, accurate cuts on the user-friendly insulation material). The tape is high quality, designed for colder climates as well as hot (Im from Montana, so this is a big deal for me). It's important to follow the door cleaning instructions, which are quick, easy, and assure quality adherence. It's helpful, but not necessary, to have a second person hold the tape and panels in place before firmly pressing them in place. I'm kind of a perfectionist, so really appreciate how smooth and finished these panels look. What a difference these panels make, not only for heat insulation but for lighting up an otherwise drab garage interior!     • Easy to install
Had to cut to fit my door. Was able to install without removing hurricane braces. (May have been a bit easier to install with braces off but was faster without). Forget about the tape. I used 3M spray contact adhesive. So easy. Reduced temp in garage about 2 degrees F. Not sure it is worth it, but what I expected- the large temperature drops reported for this and similar products are surface of the door drop, and I too see this with IR thermometer, but this is not reflective of the actual efficiency of the insulation (typically the goal is to affect a change in the garage temperature not surface of the door) I would expect that it would be far more effective at keeping garage warmer in winter as the reflective outer layer will work well to reflect radiant heat. The interface with the door is subject to radiant and conductive heat transfer, and without a layer of air between the insulation and door most should be conductive transfer and the reflective layer will not come into play as much. ... show more

Good product but had to modify installation. I can't offer any savings stats yet because I didn't get it installed until after our last freezing weather of the season. During such weather the inside temp in the garage typically dips to the low 40s F. I will have more info when summer arrives. Overall savings may be modest since our door faces north and is a wood construction 16' wide by 8' tall that already provides some level of insulation vs. a sheet metal door. I failed to notice 2 things before ordering: 1. This appears to be designed for sheet metal doors which explains the first change. The supplied double-sided tape won't stick well to unfinished wood surfaces. No problem, I used a staple gun. Worked fine and holds securely. 2. The doors in photos shown by the seller had 4 segments vertically and my door has 5. The material comes in 4 full width pieces rolled up together. No major problem but it took a little longer to install since I had to cut the the pieces to fit my segments. The wood door also has 4 horizontal braces for support and to keep wood from warping. Unfortunately not all of them were at an edge or hinge line. Again, I'm used to adapting things to work. All turned out fine. If anyone has to make any such mods on their door, only attach the material to one segment per strip. When the door opens there is nearly an inch gap between segments along the hinge line as the door opens and rolls back at the top. Don't secure the material to that next lower segment or it would pull loose. One unexpected plus is that the foil surface actually makes the light much better in the garage when the door is down. I move our outdoor potted plants inside before the first hard freeze to protect them and they seemed to respond well to the increased light. ... show more

    • Great insulation, terrible tape for Phoenix
When it was installed it was *fantastic*. Huge difference in the garage summer temps. I have a west facing metal garage door that gets blistering hot. Unfortunately, that was too much for the tape. I received the thin fabric-reinforced tape with my order that had the blue protective removable layer. I’ve since tried 2 other brands on my own but nothing can handle the heat. And for the record the adhesive failed both against the door and against the foam - it was just melting. And yes I let the tape fully tack up and thoroughly cleaned the door before application.
