  • Works Good and Easy to Use
I have houseplants and noticed this year that some of them were weakend and "dying". After talking to someone about my houseplant issues, they mentioned a light meter that they use. He suggested my plants were not getting enough light even though it's very bright in my home. Some of were plants were about 15 feet away which I thought was still bright enough. I eventually researched more on how much light plants should receive when they are in your house. This light meter works great! All I did was install the batteries it came with and turned it on. It was already calibrated. I removed the cover and started measuring the light coming in from my windows. I measured the light in the middle of my room and there is a big difference! I would have never thought it was that big of a difference since my home gets southern exposure sunshine all day! So, yes, this light meter helps! Now, I will position specific plants in certain spots in my home using this intuitive and easy to use light meter! ... show more

  • Determines amount of light for plants
Helpful in determining how strong the light is in a given area. I like to check it at its peak and then later when the sun is out of view. It may not be for everyone, but it has helped me with determining where to put specific plants.

  • Made for incandescent
Seems nice but while going through manual seen something that should be in description that it is designed for incandescent lights

  • A very good buy. Do it!
This is a great light meter. But be aware that it integrates (probably uniformly, haven't done the experiment) over a hemisphere (2 pi steradians), so if the sun is shining directly on it, there will be a high reading, dependent on the angle at which you hold it. Range is very good. During the eclipse I measured light levels from 50 klux down to 12 lux at mid totality. Very satisfied, except I couldn't figure out how to connect this to my computer. On balance, a good deal. Glad i got it. ... show more
