Could it be higher quality? Sure, but I don't have the budget for that which is why I bought this frame and not a fancier one. Definitely doesn't feel like real wood but it looks close enough. It matched my artwork perfectly, but I had the hardest time finding other reviews with pictures of the gray color. Seems sturdy, easy to put the art in, feels snug but not too tight even though I left the cardstock backing that the watercolor came with AND the white matting in the back in case I want to use it to display something else in the future. Keep in mind the pictures are taken with the top layer of protective film still in place because I plan to transport as a gift. This frame is exactly what you think you’ll get for the price. The “glass” is plastic with protective film you need to remove before displaying. I purchased the black color way, and it didn’t have any dings or marks in the paint. It is not overly sturdy, I wouldn’t recommend placing it anywhere it needs to hold up to anything serious, but if you’re looking for a low cost, minimal look frame, this one is perfect. Color options are great for standard document framing too. It has vertical and horizontal hanging hardware, and the tabs to remove the back cover swing around instead of being the cheap bendable ones. These frames are super nice for the price. They fit my already matted prints perfectly and look great. They have an almost soft satin kind of feel to them and look pretty high quality. It’s nice that the plastic comes with protection on it for you to remove so it doesn’t get damaged. If you look super close you’ll see some super fine “scratches” on the plastic, but you can’t tell from far away and I think that just how it comes out when it’s made. Can’t complain for the price.
