I remember car covers from years past that were basically thin cotton cloth that were a herald of woe in so many ways. The new upgraded cover has an outer layer that looks and feels like nylon or a windbreaker. The inner side of the fabric is rubber in look and feel. It feels like it weighs about 10 pounds. The fabric choice means it is more likely to grip your boat and thereby be less likely to be susceptible to wind picking it up and moving it about. It's elastic along the bottom. The second benefit is obviously, rubber is a great seal against moisture. It will also keep moisture in. So, letting it sit long term this way could promote a musty return. I suppose rubber could offer protection against some minor hail. It also provides protection against a leaky roof if you have one. ... show more

It's a bit over complicated. And I had to move the boat to an area that's more protected because we get really strong winds. Overall it does what it needs to do and I like that it's supposed to prevent water from pulling on the tarp but that's all in how well you are able to get it covered.

This cover seems to be made of quality materials. The straps are decent and it fits my jon boat. So far it’s been waterproof and it’s fairly ease to install. I would recommend this product for the price.

I like the center stand to keep the cover elevated so rain doesn't pool. This is a very lightweight cover. I imagine it won't fair well in high winds. It is just too light duty.

It's a fairly heavy material with ample adjustable straps to cinch it down very well. I add a poly tarp to extend its life from the harmful degradation of the sun. The cover itself does a great job of keeping rain water out of the boat. The included tenting post and straps for preventing water from pooling on the cover is a must for the best protection and well worth the time and effort to install it properly.
