I took a chance on this lap desk after reading several reviews that indicated quality control wasn't great. So, if you are wondering, does the "upgraded" part of this name seem to indicate updated quality control, it did for me. I also ordered this lap desk as well as a different brand of lap desk in case this one was a total flop, and I thought this one was the best for several reasons: (1) The piece that holds the tablet in place is large enough for my Samsung S9 Ultra Tablet (a SUPER large tablet, 14.6" display) - this reason may not apply to you. (2) There is a large zip-up mesh pocket on the bottom side of the lap desk. While it would be hard to access this pocket while the lap desk is on someone's lap, it does securely hold several coloring books. (3) When I folded up this lap desk, the items inside seemed more secure than in the other brand I bought. This seemed to be due to the fact that the lip that catches things on the person-side of the desk stood up better on its own, plus the fact that the side flaps are a little longer than the other brand I bought. While the side flaps do not meet in the middle for either lap desk in the folded mode (I assume this is because having the flaps longer would make it unwieldy when unfolded), these come closer to meeting in the middle and covering up all the items stored is inside. This brand seems like my child is less likely to have a book or pen fall out while they are carrying it around an airport. (4) There is an extra little zip pocket near where the tablet goes. It is small enough that it won't hold much, maybe just the flap that holds the tablet, but it's still a nice addition. ... show more

I loved the tray. However my kids went to use the dry erase markers and they were dry on arrival. Will still continue to use the tray as it was so helpful on our long road trip but need to buy my boys some new markers.

Was surprised at how light it was and how flat the packaging was. We bought this for a long haul flight and tried it out in the car. It came with erasable whiteboard pens (one wasn’t working), and a few coloring paper which our child (kindergartener to elementary school age) really liked. I am not sure if this was worth the price, I could see buying this at a lower price point. There was no instructions when we first got it but it was somewhat ok to figure out how the pieces come together from looking at the photos. The quality of the materials isn’t great but it does the job. I like how it is light in weight but sturdy in the table area. We will see how this holds up with our air travel but for car travel it kept the kiddo busy with coloring, and that was a nice plus. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This lap tray is quality. I can’t wait to use it on our road trip. It’s foldable and has Velcro on it to hold together. It comes with markers and some activities. It is dry erasable. I love it so far!

I am updating my original review below. While these travel trays did not work for the types of car seats we have, Tomser was spot on with their service. My unsellable tray did not arrive because I missed an email they sent me for additional information. They reached out to me after this review and offered to make it right. They completely refunded my purchase after reading my review. My suggestion is if you are contemplating buying these trays and you want them to fit like in the picture, measure the width of your seats to make sure the flaps will fold down and it will fit like a tray. This tray may not be for everyone, but Tomser does have excellent customer service. I suggest you reach out to them if you have any questions before you purchase. I bought these for my 2 kids 5 and 6 who are in convertible toddler boosters for a 10 hour road trip we took 2 weeks ago. First off when the products arrived, one of them was missing the strap that is towards the back of the tray to prop up the tablet. I contacted Tomser and they said they could send me an "unsellable" tray free of charge, but there would be no guarantee it had the strap. Or they could send me just the strap, but it would take a long time because they're not in the Amazon warehouse. I opted for the unsellable tray. It never arrived. We left for our trip on June 6th. The kids were excited to use these trays. They lasted about 10 minutes. Both kids were frustrated. They didn't sit well over the rim of the car seat, the flaps on the side didn't lay flat. The tray kept tilting down towards the floor and several of the markers had the felts pushed inside the pen, so they were unusable. I quickly packed them up, shoved them into the bags and threw them in the back of the car where they remained the entire trip. There is no return policy, or I'm too late. I wished I would have tried these out as soon as I got them, but I wanted the kids to be surprised on our trip. Measure your seats before buying these to make sure they will fit nicely on your seat. ... show more
