    • I believe it is a good tool but not for my purposes
I bought this to do rough shaping of glued up pine lumber for making wavy American flags. It seemed like this would be the proper use for it but it's not. It is too aggressive and it tears the wood up instead of cutting it. I believe the Arbortech Turboplane would be the proper tool as its teeth are more minimally exposed. This tool would work well for carving in logs perhaps or shaping recesses like for seats. The tool seems well made and I was able to make it fit my grinder. So far all of the pieces fits well with the universal grinder attachments and have done a good job at roughing out keep medium too hard density Woods, just be mindful to wear masks or decent extraction during use as this will make loads of it.

The speed cut disc mounting hole imperfect and won't fit. It's supposed to be 7/8 but it is slightly smaller so it won't fit. The other disc in the set seem to be okay so far. Haven't used them yet.

    • Worked Better Than Expected
I received the wood carving disc ahead of scheduled delivery. That day I attached it to my Ryobi 18V ONE+ grinder and attacked a dozen tree and large shrub stumps. These were all in a diameter range of 8-9" and about an inch or so above ground level. It took about an hour to complete along with a couple of large 4Ah batteries. I completed the job with a 9Ah battery, and the extra power and the disc chewed up everything in its path. As with all tools, when using the disc be careful. It is aggressive and controlling the grinder with it attached has a minimal learning curve. For my project, this disc worked perfectly and made my mowing path a lot easier! I recommend this product; and the safety gloves are a nice plus. ... show more

This works pretty good, first thing is I had to get a 5/8 nut and cut it in half, that worked pretty good and wasn’t in the way at all (see pic). Second you have to be careful while using the left side of the wheel it will give you a nasty kick, so I recommend using the right and back side of the wheel ( you’ll understand once you start using it). Other than that it takes wood off pretty good and leaving the surface some what smooth. ... show more
