  • Comfort and customization at a fraction of the cost
Color: Red and Blue
I purchased these controllers as an extra pair so that should I need to send my Joycons in for repair, I would have a good backup pair. These joycons do not disappoint! The grip was shockingly comfortable when attached to my Switch and I found that they're very easy to hold and handle. The buttons respond very well with no lag between button presses. The triggers are also very accessible and respond very well to input. They also have a satisfying click on press so I found myself enjoying that a bit. After playing a few casual games of Tetris 99 as well as a more controller intensive game, Mortal Kombat, I found these controllers to be a very suitable fit for when I may need a backup pair of joycons. I may just use these regularly anyway. One caveat I must note is that these controllers are very bulky and because of this, will not fit a standard Switch carrying case. You'll either need a bigger case or you'll have to detach and store the joycons separately. Overall, for the lower cost of these joycons, you'd swear you were getting a higher cost quality item. Would recommend. ... show more

  • Amazingly Affordable Alternatives!
Color: Red and Blue
A few weeks ago, I sent my original Joycons in for repair due to drifting. As a temporary replacement, I bought these seeing its relatively great rating compared to other 3rd party Joycons. I am now writing this review with confidence that the rating is pretty well-deserved, and I can honestly use these forever (that is, until I need to go to a Smash tournament — don't bring custom macro controllers, kids). As previous reviews have pointed out, one of the key features of these controllers is that they are way easier on the grip due to filling your hands. I can definitely play for longer periods of time with these as opposed to the normal Joycons. I also appreciate some of the smaller nuances such as concave joysticks. I don't have enough experience or an exact planned use for the Turbo and Macro functions to form an actual opinion on those, sadly. On paper, they can save you in input-heavy situations, though note this is a form of cheating on games like Smash. As for negatives, the larger size might be inconvenient to some — I cannot fit these into my normal Switch case which were designed to fit the console and the default Joycons, for example. Additionally, unlike the normal Joycons, you can't fire up the Switch wirelessly simply by holding the Home button; instead, you have to use the Power button on the console itself, which can be a bit annoying to get used to. I also wish these fit the default Switch wrist straps (the ones you see in the picture are third party ones I bought specifically for these replacements) and came with NFC (this is pretty important if you use Amiibos regularly but aren't planning on fixing the official; Joycons yet). Honestly, however, the positives far outweigh the negatives I pointed out, to the point where I think these make for great regular-use alternatives. ... show more

  • 1 set had defective sticks, 2nd set is much better (Updated Review)
Color: Red and Blue
ORIGINAL REVIEW: The joycons were near perfect. They are comfortable in the hand and the full-size analog sticks help a ton. However, while they are better than official joycons, they also rather stiff and have a noticeable deadzone when playing shooting games or games where aiming with the right stick is essential. Best way to compare is to use this and the official pro controller side to side. Most games will be no problem, but games like Fortnite and similar shooters will notice how much you need to push the stick in a certain direction before it registers. Gyro aiming does help, but I still found myself fighting with the right stick to go where I wanted. I ended up returning the joycons. P.S - While you can't slide it all the way to secure it, you can still attach the wrist strap to these joycons to have better access to the SL and SR buttons (see pic on blue joycon with the strap attached) UPDATE: Coordinated with the Amazon Seller, Airunmi, and received a replacement set. I went with the gray ones this time around (which comes with a grip to use wirelessly when switch is docked). The analog sticks feel much better on these, which leads me to think the other set was defective. While not at the same level as say a Pro Controller, They feel pretty good, if a bit over sensitive (had to lower settings on a few games to get the aim just right). Motion controls work no problem, but the rumble is not HD (which may affect games like mario party) and may be a little too strong for some people. When compared to the Hori Split Pad Pro it's a matter of preference. The sticks on the Split pad feel better and more responsive (but I think that's because those are bigger than the kinvoca ones), but the lack of rumble and motion controls, the fact that they're handheld only, and their rather large size(affects portability) makes me lean towards the Kinvoca joycons more. PRO/CONS + Larger grip/ layout + Larger sticks + Left joycon has Dpad + Motion Controls + Wireless (can be played docked/table top mode) + Gray ver. comes with grip for docked/tabletop play + Like original Joycons, they can be used individually - Layout is similar to original joycons, so taller sticks might get in peoples way when trying to press B - Sticks are a tad oversensitive - not HD rumble, and may be too strong in some cases (turn off in settings) - USB-C ports make docking a tight fit (also blocks one usb port on dock) - Haven't been able to wake the Switch up wirelessly (only when joycons were connected to Switch) - Wrist straps will fit, but not fasten ... show more
