This is a well built unit except when the hotwheels is used in high speed it keeps popping the 30amp fuses included fast. In low speed no issues.

    • Worked but....
If your like us and and didn't think about the control board in your power wheels vehicle. Definitely realize this thing provides 18 volts. Our power wheels is a 12V battery and CONTROL BOARD. So, if you upgrade the battery you have to upgrade the control board too. We basically fried ours and had to do a $50 repair --- lessons were learned! We did not seek out an 18 v control board. I will say it did make her jeep FAST lol. ... show more

Made very durable for outside use or even indoor. clips right on to most batteries easy to install there's a switch to turn it on and off so you don't have to disconnect the battery every time. Saves power. It works great on the power wheels a lasts a long time.

    • Perfect for powerwheels
I installed two of these on my sons powerwheel, after the original battery died. The two batteries and adapters work better than the original factory battery. They work longer and run a tad bit faster. It was an easy install with just a few butt connectors and crimps he was on his way in 20 minutes.

    • Soild and well designed.
This adapter is solid and plastic is thick and should hold up to more strenuous adventures when mounted and holding the weight of the battery. The contacts are placed against the top of the box and this is good to ensure they are solid when installed on the battery to keep the connection with the battery terminals. Other variations I have seen the switch is on the box and a fuse holder on the wire. I do like the switch on the box option but this switch/fuse holder all in one is a nice device. If it was part of the case and not on the wire it would be great. The price for this one is a bit higher than some other options but not to bad with the more solid box and connection to battery.     • Another great use for Makita batteries
With several Makita tools and the batteries that go with them, this is a great way to add another use for them and keep Power Wheels rolling. This little device easily makes them adapt.

    • Fitment and manufacture good
there are about six considerations/features to these types of adapters: is cost ok, Is fitment good, is manufacture decent, does it have switch, is it fused, and does it have low voltage protection. This has good fitment and manufacture looks good. This adapter includes added bonus above bare bones of switch and fuse, both of which are useful. Cost is about average for a single unit. It does not have low voltage protection. Some OEM Makita batts have low voltage protection in battery, some do not, and many generics for Makita do not. So I would take care about this issue since using this without adding a low voltage protection can destroy your batteries permanently. for inexpensive low voltage protection boards to use with these adapters, search Amazon for " Low Voltage Protection Switch/ Over-Discharge Protection Module for 12-36V" ... show more
