I took a chance and bought this for my trip to Mo’orea in French Polynesia. I stayed in an over water bungalow that had access to an incredible lagoon that’s bursting with underwater wildlife. This case was absolutely perfect for capturing that world. Admittedly, it’s a little clunky and hard to get Into, but once you have everything set up, it’s perfect. I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max. To get set up, you unclamp the six clasps, releasing the top cover from from the base unit. From there, you insert your phone into place, using an adjustable clamp on the bottom; and spring loaded clamp on the side. Once you have your phone nice and snug, you put the cover back on, making sure the O-ring is in place, and reengage the six clamps. A few notes: 1. Make sure your battery is fully charged. You’ll need lots of juice for two reasons: you have to go to your settings and set the phone’s auto lock to “never”, and you also have to have the video/camera app open and running before closing it up. 2. You’ll also be running your screen at its brightest setting, which is a battery drain as well. I took a good hour to 90 minutes worth of video on one charge, no issues. The one thing I did notice, is that after the 90 minutes my phone was HOT. I assume it’s because it’s airtight and the heat has nowhere to go. So please be careful about overheating, I’d hate to see a phone ruined from that. 3. The shutter button is a bit tricky, and only works when directly over the “volume up” button. It also has to have a snug fit, to apply the right amount of pressure to engage the picture/record button to work. Make sure you test it before you put the cover back on. As far as water proof, I didn’t have a single drop get into the case. My phone went in bone dry, and came out bone dry over several days and dozens of dives. At just $60 USD, it feels like a steal. I got absolutely incredible video and still shots, to the point where everyone I’ve show them to assumed I had some fancy underwater camera setup. When they find out it’s just an iPhone, they’re all amazed. To be fair, the deepest I took this was less than two meters (6 feet), so I can’t attest to how deep this will function. The other small con, is that you can’t really use the touch screen once it’s on and in place. I had some luck pulling it from the water and pressing firmly on the clear back case cover to change from 1.0x to 2.5x zoom. Overall this is one of the best purchases I’ve ever made on Amazon. If you’re gonna be doing some shallow dives or snorkeling; this case is an absolute must. You’ll be thrilled with the high quality results, and have awesome pics and videos to share when you get home! ... show more

After reading reviews, I had low expectations but I've found this to be awesome so far. I'm using this with a new Samsung S23 Ultra. Definitely surprised! I didn't expect to be able to toggle back and forth between the video and camera. That works great. I didn't think I could zoom in and out. That also works. I didn't think I would be able to toggle between the front and back camera for selfies and that works too! I'm pretty sure you can't do all of that unless you use the Shellbox camera app but that's fine by me. I've tested it for water seal in my pool and no leaks. I did have one problem. When I shut the app down and disconnected the Bluetooth then turn everything back on and reconnect, all of the buttons work accept for the zoom in and out buttons. It took me a minute but I found that if I go into my Bluetooth settings and "forget" the connection and then rediscover it, all the buttons work again. I guess I can work with that considering I just have to do it once before getting in the water. All in all pretty happy! ... show more

When I got the box, it clearly said in the box that only compatible up to iPhone 12 pro max, I bought it because in the amazon description it says fits up to iPhone 14 Pro max. So I was ready to return it thinking it will not fit my phone. I tried to reach the sellers costumer service and Robert reached out and told me to just try my phone with the case and it did fit. Tried the wet test also for 2 hrs and it passed. So next test is when I go on vacation. So for now, I give it 4 ⭐️. ... show more

I have been looking for a waterproof case to use for snorkeling with an iPhone 12 Pro. After reading many product descriptions and reviews, it seemed that a $50 touch screen case was not a good idea. This Third Generation "Professional" case, for about $90, is a good idea because it uses a bluetooth connection to control the smartphone functions. Unfortunately, it doesn't work. 1. The case was designed to accommodate a variety of phone sizes, which I totally understand. The suction cups did not hold my iPhone in place; it slowly slipped down. A simple solution would be to include several pieces of dense foam in different sizes that could be placed to hold the phone from slipping (some other cases have this). 2. The instructions tell me to use the QR code to download the app - the link does not work (server not found) - or download BT Shutter from the App Store. There are 2 apps named "BT Shutter" on the app store. I tried both of them. They both connected to my iPhone, but did not function the way the case instructions and buttons should. Both apps are old (a few years) and have not been updated for newer phones. The second day I tried the apps, neither would connect to my phone. I gave up. 3. The package included an extra battery, a small screw driver, and a few extra tiny screws - thank you, a very good idea. There is no mention in the instructions about these parts or how to change the battery. In fact, I didn't know if the case came with a battery installed (turns out it did), or I had to install it. 4. The part of the case that has the control buttons can be removed from the case; it's held in place by a magnet. It can therefore be used as a remote away from the case. The instructions say nothing about this. 5. I did not test the case in water - I returned it. However, the waterproofing relies on one O-ring. From experience, I know that an O-ring should be cleaned and greased (O-ring silicon grease) before every use; this is not mentioned in the instructions, and no O-ring grease is supplied. 6. The case is branded Shellbox. The Shellbox website has zero information about this case. The box has a different company name. The apps are developed by people or companies that can't be found, and no privacy information is provided to Apple App Store by the developers. This is an issue with products from China or other countries where the products could go through a few different companies before being marketed. I understand, and appreciate, globalization, but many companies putting things on the market need to up their game. 7. Thank you Amazon for letting me return this item and get a refund. I'm actually a bit sad to give this product a 1-star rating because I think it is a great idea, seems like an acceptable quality build (but I did not use it to be certain), and I wish it actually worked. ... show more
