  • Love it except for one thing...
Style: Here to Sleigh Expansion Pack
We got this last Winter as a gift for a friend and found it to be super cute (like all things TeeTurtle) and fun. Our favorite aspect of this expansion is that it was festive without really being overly affiliated with any specific holiday. However, the base game of Here to Slay plays up to six people and this expansion does not. Why would there be a holiday expansion to play with friends and family that doesn't allow for the full player count to enjoy it? Sure, you can just mix in the item cards with the rest of the deck, and sort of play, but the other two players won't get to use a card overlay, which does actually matter in the game and are player specific. Nor will they get a Checklist card, which is used for the new win condition. I don't want to say this was a failed gift, but I do wish the expansion played up to six. ... show more

  • Fun expansion
Style: TeeTurtle Here to Slay Warriors & Dr...
I was thrilled to see this expansion for Here to Slay. We personally enjoy this game the most from Unstable (although there are a couple we haven’t gotten to yet), but we felt it could use a few more monsters to help keep it a little more varied. The extra classes are also great, as it really makes that strong rpg connection even more so. The whole game gets high marks, but this especially so for being a good addition. ... show more

  • Top favorite card game
Style: TeeTurtle Here to Slay Base Game - from ...
This is one of my top favorite card games. It’s so much fun! And even better, it’s fun for all ages. I have 2 kids, 17 and 12. We’ve all played this game countless times and had a blast. We’re going to be buying all the expansion packs!

My whole family loves it. Great game for when friends and family come over too. Even my 10 year old grasped the rules. I purchased one of the expansions as well. It’s very good.

  • Fun for everyone - Addictive - Near limitless fun!
Style: TeeTurtle Here to Slay Base Game - from ...
Howdy All, I'm going to start off by saying buy the game. The base game AND the expansion are very much worth it. If you are sitting there debating it, don't. Literally get this game if it does interest you. I was the same way until I bought then played with with friends/family. It's is very fun once you do a few rounds with the rules. I'll give a few simple drop of Pros/Cons. Before I start I wanted to explain that even with the Cons the game is still very enjoyable. Pros: ==== - In-depth rules that explains ever in/out of the entire game +has little handy rules reference cards for each player to look to for shorthand explanations for their turn. - Simple but lovely designs for the different Classes/Animals/ Monsters. - Relatively short gameplay session ( 30-60 minutes ), could be longer if there are more people. - Playing with 2 players can work without much issue. - Children of all ages can play this, Played this with ages ranging from 3ys-60yrs. So yeah you can play this with literally anyone. - Gameplay is enjoyable as you have a lot of options for how you want to run your party + strategy to weaken/set back other plays while trying to win yourself. - Difficulty to reach via dice rolls ( +, - ) are reasonable, and do come with risk/reward. Cons: ===== - The Modifier cards can stack which can make the difficulty curve for rolls for Monsters/Challenge cards higher or lower depending on who it is targeted at. Not necessarily a too bad thing but it can get annoying real quick. - Challenge cards go hand, and hand with the above. Two players who are in a challenge roll then use their modifiers to boost or decrease the rolls is fine, but outside parties who were not apart of the initial challenge card can affect dice rolls as well as use their modifier which can be played at any time to effect rolls for other plays. This is more of a personal gripe which can be solved by using a house roll but can be annoying. - Limited characters/ Customization. I love this game, I wish to make this super duper clear, I love playing it whenever I get the chance. I do need to say that on the box + in the above product's description it does say you can customize your own party leader card from their website - this is true. I do wish they would let you design your own party cards as well other than the party leader as I think it could give more creativity to the game and make for some good counters etc. The art and current classes/animals are all super well designed, and balanced as most have a good counter. - There is not another expansion! Jokes aside, I do wish they could come out with another expansion as there are a lot of opportunities for classes/animals to use. - Lastly as I stated in the first bullet of the 'pros', the In-depth rules. Holding the rules next to me as I type this I recall the first time I laid eyes on this bad boy. It opens up to be a mini-poster of rules that while in-depth in detail about how to play, it can be a lot when you first open it up fully. There is a front/back that you need to read which is fine but as I said can be a lot. During my first 2-4 games of playing, you do need to look back towards the rules when debates over how a card is to be played or to check for trivial info until it sort of clicks. That being said most games will have you doing that so that isn't the biggest deal in my opinion. Playing with younger kids can be difficult due to the amount of rules but reciting it a few times, checking rules and you should be fine. I don't write many reviews but I felt I just had to gush about this game, a tad biased probably due to my enjoyment but I do truly love this game. Hope these help with your decision, and hope you try out this fun card game. ... show more

  • Love the game, but they are discolored
Style: Here to Slay: Berserker & Necromance...
Love the extension pack, but it had a slightly different colored back compared to the main game, so it was easy to spot which ones were part of the expansion pack

My family absolutely loves this game. We played it for 4 hours and have made it a regular occurrence on game nights. It's fun, easy to play, and great for multiple people. The art on the cards is super adorable and unique. Only complaint is not having enough monster cards to choose from so they get repetitive when cycling through multiple games. ... show more

Very fun expansion gives you more to think about when playing and the berserkers & necromancers play very differently.
