The original one died. One too many drops or maybe it just didn’t like me. So I ordered a new replacement. No programming or anything it just works. Praise all that is holy. I purchased this last year when our original Vizio remote went missing and it was a life saver. We were using the app but had to keep resetting it because it was losing signal from the Vizio Phone app to the tv. This remote works perfectly and doesn't even need to be programmed. We lost it and just repurchased and are happy to have a solution. Only odd thing is that when we use the remote, it changes the colors of the LED light strips that we have in our living room but it isn't a big deal as far as functionality. ... show more

My 65 inch Vizio TV is still great but after 4 years of use and the dog getting to the remote, it needed replaced. Put batteries in and it works immediately! I would give 5 stars if it came with batteries, and I would pay a few more dollars if it did. However, it did not. The sticker on the back was hard to completely remove as well. My toddler somehow lost our original remote to our Vizio 50" TV. I got this one and was worried as I took it out of the package and there were no instructions to pair it. I put batteries in it and was pleasantly surprised to find it was already paired and worked right away.

Remote is just as described. Got a Vizio for free but it didn’t come with a remote. I didn’t even need to program it either just add batteries.

While it doesn't have the keyboard feature of the original remote that came with my Vizio, it functions quite well. No programming required, just 2 AAA batteries (not included.)
