A picture says 1000 words. Just look at the comparison of these two remotes. Samsung‘s original remote control is so excessively complex, that it can be difficult to use by feel alone, and as such, it was a real pleasure to find a much simpler and compact solution. My original remote does not have a home button, which is what prompted my search, but I am so delighted with this simplified ergonomic interface. It offers all the functions I need quick access to, removes the buttons I never use, and does so in a completely intuitive manner. It feels good in the hand, if a tad lighter than I would like. Many of the buttons do I have a nice rubber feel and the volume and channel buttons have a satisfying action. My TV is very responsible to continuous (multi-step) volume changes. And for those wondering if it has a mute functionality, the answer is yes. Simply pressing the volume button in, rather than up or down, toggles mute. As I said, a terrific compact replacement with a simplified interface. I love this thing. For 10 bucks? How can you go wrong? I cannot speak to the durability of this remote, having just acquired it, but the build quality seems adequate, but not high end. ... show more

This worked perfectly for our Samsung UHD 65" (un65nu8000). The standard bluetooth remote was alway coming unpaired anyways, then we lost it. So I ordered this one on a whim. It worked perfectly. No programming, no pairing, just point and click and all the buttons work.

I opened the package to see it's almost identical to the remote that came with the television. When you have little people in your home, you need a homing device to find them on a regular. I was tired of searching so I bought these as spares and placed them out of reach lol. It didn't require any set up, I just added batteries (NOT INCLUDED) and pressed power. I ordered a universal remote. Cheap, light feeling.. the buttons were impossible! I had to try over and over again. That didn't always work. I tried a different one, worked better for about a month. Ordered the 3rd one. It's better, after 2 weeks, than were at this time of use.

Love the remote my 50" Samsung came with (like this one). Hate the remote my 65" Samsung came with. What to do? Buy one of these! From day one I loved the original remote my 50" came with. It is well worn and only does what I need it to do. Lately though, it's been acting up, registering more clicks than it should. Typing in a search field was fun with two or three characters popping up. Pain in the butt doing searches. Select A. Why are there 2 or 3 A's? Backspace. Crap shoot. Repeat. Selecting menu items, like more info in Prime, just bounced in then back to the main menu. You know...fun! Thankfully I haven't "auto purchased" anything! Since it was time to look for a replacement, I figured, what if I can replace the big brick with way too many buttons on it that I hate? Rubbery, spongey feeling, slow to respond hunk of junk with way too many buttons my 65" came with? Did I already mention it has way too many useless buttons for my daily viewing habits? There are way too many remotes that look just like this one available. I rolled the dice and went with the most reviewed and got this one. A factory replacement, Samsung branded remote, is in the $65 to $75 range. I figured why not give it a shot for 10 bucks? Couldn't be happier! It doesn't come with voice control...aside from that, it function's perfectly like the remote it replaced. I used the voice control maybe half a dozen times with the original so no big deal to me. Everything else does what it's supposed to do. Buttons feel solid on this one...everything about it feels good except that it's a little rougher, not as well fitted as the original, but it will "smooth" out with use. Just like the shiny, well-worn original in the photo. Bonus points...It works with both my TV's! Bye bye brick! It doesn't control my Samsung Blu-ray player like the "brick", but who cares? It has its own remote for when, on the sad occasion, my internet goes out and I fire up an old disk when I can't stream. I'll hold off awhile before I get a another dedicated remote for the living room and break this one in. So far, it's a keeper and I'm very happy with it. Anyone who streams 99% of their content and doesn't need or want a remote that feels clunky in their hand should give one of these a spin. It covers everything (so far) in a modern smart TV. Fits nicely in the hand with no need for backlighting or any need to look at the darn thing. Highly recommend if you're like me and don't particularly care for the remote your newer Samsung TV came with. ... show more

I had dropped my old remote several times and it finally had enough and quit working. This replacement works great. The battery compartment is better designed and easier to open. I ordered two more just to have backups.

Install the batteries and it just works. This style of remote control takes a bit of getting used to, but if you have had any previously, you will have no problem with this one. Battery cover is a bit awkward, but so are all of the controls of this genre. Getting the cover off is best done with sticky fingers (perhaps a vinyl glove or jar-opening pad). Pay attention to the arrow direction. Re-closing the battery compartment is equally challenging, but works once "you get it." The buttons are extremely simplified. You might want to use your original controller to change TV settings, but if you figure out the controller's menu paradigm you can use it to make most of these changes. I almost gave this device 5-stars, but it IS extremely cheap. On the other hand, you don't care if you happen to lose or break it. ... show more
