Our Unigear surf leash strong enough to handle the longest and heaviest of boards, but since it is designed for flatwater paddling it is lightweight and flexible. Its ankle cuff won't have you feeling like you broke out of prison. It will not snap and keeps you attached to your board no matter how many times you wipe out. We got a couple of these leashes to go with some iSUP's (inflatable stand-up paddleboards). We debated about whether or not we needed them, since we have a rubbermaid tub full of surfboard leashes for a quiver of boards from 6'2 to 10'6. But those aren't the coiled type, so they'd be dragging in the water - these stay out of the water and lay nicely on the deck out of the way. They're well made with good materials - the coil seems strong, the velcro is tough, and the stitching looks good. If you've ever been worked on the outside and surfaced to see your board washing to shore, and then had to make that long swim back in to get it....then you appreciate a good leash. The wide variety of color options was also a nice feature, and the little waterproof case that comes with it is a cool bonus. ... show more

The Uni gear leash worked much better than my previous SUP leash. Easy to attach and none of the tangles I had with my prior leash. This was important for the number of times I fell off the board working into tougher ocean waters as a beginner. I used the wallet much more than I thought I would, just not while SUPing. I was on Kauai where it rains quite a bit so I used the water proof wallet as my go to for phone, credit cards, license and cash. I had a minor issue with the wallet that was handles quickly and courteously by customer service. I will buy other Uni Gear products after this positive experience. ... show more

Leash was amazing. Fit perfect with my paddle board and around my ankle. HOWEVER the "Waterproof" Phone case is a crock of crap. Not only did the adjustable waist Belt not only broke because it seemed like a very cheap material the "adjustable lanyard" broke instantly in the middle of the water so not only did my phone drop in the water, the case was filled with water and fell to the damn bottom of the lake!!!!! Had to buy a new phone. Do NOT put this stupid lanyard with this leash until you fix this lanyard. I don't want anyone else to go through spending multiple hundreds of dollars for a new freaking phone!!! Leash was great, lanyard was HORRIBLE!!!! ... show more

I'm relatively new to SUP, but the one thing I HATED about rental boards was that long leash that dragged behind my board in the water so when I decided to buy my own board I was so pleased that I found a coiled one! once I used it I was more than happy with my choice of the Unigear leash. My paddle board didn't come with a tether for some reason so every time I fell off I was left trying to swim after my board clutching onto my paddle. With this tether I just kick downward or put my leg behind me and the board comes back within reach! Seems like a good quality, I've been using in saltwater all summer and no visible corrosion yet! The waterproof cell case is ok, my phone overheats really bad since it's airtight so I can't listen to music like a thought I would, but haven't had any leaks. ... show more

I had the leash for just over 2 years and it broke with no stress on it. I used it maybe 20 times for flat water paddling. If it breaks just like that, it’s completely not trustworthy as a safety item. Stay away from this and get something more reliable.

Works AMAZING with my board...comfortable around the ankle, not so long that it gets caught up, and if I fall in on the river it keeps my board right along side me, just as it should. Also I love the vibrant blue color I got which matches my board! A must have for paddle boarding on water of any kind, but especially if there is wake or waves! I bought this for our new paddle surfing board and very happy with the overall quality. The cord is nice and thick as well as the connection where it swivels is nice and smooth. The padded ankle bracelets is nice and soft as well as being thick. I also love the waterproof phone case that you get which we will be using and best of all the price was really great so we do highly recommend this product ❤️ ... show more
