All mostly metal construction. A few plastic pieces (basket slider). Overall a nice piece and easy to assemble. Some preplanning is need for orientation of he shelf. The sliders on the bottom of the baskets are preinstalled. I recommend to preplan the vertical support legs towards the wall of the cabinets and the sliders oriented on the inside farthest from the cabinet door opening or edge allowing the basket to slide out. This kits comes with all the hardware and a simple wrench and Allen key. We had ours assembled within 15 minutes. My only pit fall experience, which is not a returnable offense. One of the two metal mesh baskets had some dings in the side wall of the baskets. I am guess due to padded protection issues. The dings are noticeable but not enough to do much about. Wow- couldn’t have asked for a better design. The picture I forgot to include the bottom of the trays, but it does come with a hard plastic liner to keep small items in the baskets.
