I was in need of a new umbrella and started searching for a travel size umbrella on Amazon Prime. Then appeared LANBRELLA a travel size reverse closing umbrella. The price was good and the reviews were very good. So I bought one (color grey). It arrived quickly and a couple of days later it was pouring sheets of rain in Philadelphia. I had to get to my car - could not wait. Decided to try out my new umbrella. I walked a block to my car. The LANBRELLA gave me good cover from the pouring rain and I stayed dry. When I got to the car I closed the umbrella and voila the outside (=inside really) was dry. No wet umbrella next to me in the car. Great. Love the design of this umbrella. Great length to travel with, lightweight for its massive size, I could easily cover myself and two friends during the storm. I do not miss closing my old umbrella and getting the backsplash in my face and the water getting on the floor of my car. Inverted design keeps the water away from me and makes the run on rainy days into my car smoother since it doesn’t get caught on the door. Just press the button and mad dash inside and whirl the door shut. It’s great. I lost my first and had to buy another and all I could about was whoever found it, was their lucky day. You’re welcome. Changes: 1. The Velcro band feels backwards when you close it. (Not big deal though) 2. it would be nice to be able to push the button to reopen the umbrella when it’s half closed. I read multiple reviews before purchasing this umbrella. Several have complained about the difficulty to close, no such issue here. Others have complained about holes in the fabric, again, not here. Maybe it's a quality control issue? The umbrella opens and closes as advertised. It provides increased cover (larger canopy) than other umbrellas I own, but yet compresses to a smaller size when closed (12.5" tip to tip). My only concern is durability. The umbrella is VERY light, including the handle. This could be a positive it it holds up, but looking at the rivets makes me skeptical. I've used the umbrella once in a downpour and it was great - but the storm had no wind. It's absolutely worthy of 5 stars for now, but the durability has yet to be tested. ... show more

THis is a sturdy umbrella that will last years, it looks like. The design is smart and works well. It covers you well. The mechanism however is extremely stiff. As long as you press against a wall or the floor and not your hand to close it, you will be fine. And it's not a big deal if occasionally you need to close it yourself. Just requires pressure. I have owned many auto open/close umbrellas. Imagine my surprise when I opened this one to discover it is a full size umbrella. It is big enough to shield both me and my wife from the rain. As other people have said, this umbrella opens with great force. The first time I used it, I opened the car door enough to get the umbrella out and pressed the button and it pulled right out of my hand. The ribs are plenty heavy. I've owned many folding umbrellas in my long life of 75 years, but this is the best one. The quality of materials and the new concept of its design is unmatched. The way it opens and closes with the push of the same button, using the power from the spring in the bottom shaft is quite clever.     • Difficult to close
This umbrella is very difficult to close. The button collapses the fabric part but to close the stem/handle portion my husband had to use both hands. It was impossible for me, no matter how I held it. Definitely not an umbrella that would be convenient to use.

I ordered this umbrella ages ago and what do you know... it finally rained in So Cal and I got a chance to try it out. I take the train into DTLA and the way this umbrella folds up is ideal so as not to get everything and everyone all wet. It drips into itself. It is a nice size and fairly sturdy, sometimes I have to help it to open or close but I figure once it gets some more use (who knows.. we might have one of our rare rainy winters), it will loosen up. ... show more
