So, yea, buying the same product three times may seem like a discredit to the craftsmanship of said product. That is absolutely not the case when talking about the Lumbrella umbrella! Not to say you don’t need a steady hand, you do, but I’m not constantly searching for ways to try to get this umbrella into the right position to protect me from the elements (sleet, freezing rain, we get it all). Mechanism works great. Nice that it auto-collapses at the push of the button even if you have to them push it down. Extra convenient that the dry side is on the outside when folded. I can't help having some doubts about the nearly all-plastic frame but it seems strong so far and it's not as if metal framed umbrellas haven't broken in the first guest of wind so I don't think it's actually much of a minus. ... show more

Nice umbrella. Bought it thinking it was vented at top to help reduce wind damage but it turned out not to be. Not sure what will happen in a wind gust but I'm I'll eventually find out.

In terms of quality, after only about a month, the strap of the umbrella broke. Maybe I got a defective umbrella, but customer service was great and I got a replacement. I have yet to see if the quality of the replacement umbrella will hold up so fingers crossed. Other than the strap issue, the umbrella seems sturdy, but I haven't tried the windproof part. I prefer manually closing my umbrella as opposed to using a button to close it and don't know why it's preferred. It shoots water everywhere when you press the button to close the umbrella (so you get extra wet in the process if you're not careful) and because of all the mechanics involved, it takes more force to have to push the umbrella down to its original position. ... show more
