This did not work for my situation. So you may be wondering why I gave them 5* then, right? I gave then 5 * because I returned the item and got a full refund very quickly. No hassle, no problems. I really respect that. Aside from the return, the product itself was easy to use, a little noisier than I imagined, but that's ok. I imagine this works for gold and diamonds, maybe gemstones. But I mainly wanted to use it for tarnished silver. It absolutely 100% did not work. If you're trying to clean silver, look up banking soda, foil & boiling water. The results will blow your mind. Do not get this for tarnished silver, I don't believe it works for that. I also tried it on my white gold ring and ehh.. not sure it worked for that either, but it's got a lot of nooks and crannies in it, so it's hard to clean. But hey, if you have smooth gold and diamonds, etc. Give it a shot. ... show more

It's just what I expected. It cleans glasses and jewelry very well. PRO TIP: Make sure to check your jewelry, before and after using an ultra sonic, to make sure that nothing loose. The ultra sonic vibration will clean away the "stuff" that may have "held" your gem stones in place. 😉 I gave it a 4 because the on/off button doesn't work. Besides the fact that this did not clean any of my jewelry, the instruction manual was very vague, and did not provide enough information about what the machine is able to do. Unfortunately, I was beyond the return date, so I was stuck with it. I tried to use the jewelry cleaner that Amazon has for this type of machine and it didn’t make much difference. ... show more

Update: Months later it's still working like a charm! Only negative is the lid broke off but still covers it alright. But still working great! This little ultrasonic cleaner removes dirt and grime off your jewelry that you didn't even know was on there! The dirty picture was taken after (1) three minute cleaning. I dumped the solution & ran it again for about 1 minute & the water was clear. (2nd picture) In other words, the first 3 minute cleaning took care of all the grime on the necklaces. I'm hoping this little cleaner continues to work. The motor gets a little warm after the longer sessions. FYI: I also used a cleaning agent in the water which I found on Amazon. I can only use it on the shortest settings now. Ive had it for about 5 months and use it once a month. Bummed it stopped working well so quickly but this wasnt crazy expensive so I guess you get what you pay for
