If you're into rugged gadgets and need a reliable phone that can handle anything you throw at it, the Ulefone Armor 20WT Walkie Talkie Rugged Phone might be your new best friend. This beast of a phone survives in harsh conditions and doubles as a walkie-talkie, making it a versatile tool for outdoor adventures, work sites, and more. Let's dive into the pros and cons of this tough gadget and see how its dual UHF and POC radio features can come in handy. Pros of the Ulefone Armor 20WT Built Like a Tank: The Armor 20WT is super tough. It's designed to survive drops, water, and dust, so you don't have to baby it. Perfect for those who are always on the move in rough environments. Two-in-One Communication: This phone works as a UHF walkie-talkie and a POC (Push-to-Talk over Cellular) radio. You can always stay in touch, whether in the middle of nowhere or in a city. Battery That Keeps Going: No more worrying about your phone dying in the middle of nowhere. The Armor 20WT has a big battery that lasts long, perfect for those long days out. Durable Screen: The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass, which means it's resistant to scratches and can handle a few knocks and drops. Smooth Performance: With a strong processor and plenty of RAM, this phone can handle your apps and multitasking without slowing down. Great Connectivity: It supports 4G LTE and multiple network bands to stay connected even in remote areas. Cons of the Ulefone Armor 20WT A Bit on the Heavy Side: The rugged design makes it bulkier and heavier than regular phones. It might not be the most pocket-friendly device out there. Accessory Hunt: Finding accessories like cases and screen protectors specifically for this phone might be a challenge. Pricey: It’s more expensive than your average smartphone, but you’re paying for the extra durability and features. Why Dual UHF and POC Radio is Awesome Switching Made Easy: You can switch between UHF and POC modes based on where you are and what you need. It’s super flexible. Great Range: UHF radios are perfect for short-range communication without needing a cellular network. If you are a Ham Amateur Radio Licensed Operator ), you can program the repeater for more excellent UHF distance communication. POC radios use cellular networks for longer distances, giving you a wider reach. Always Reliable: You'll always have a reliable communication method, whether in the middle of nowhere or in the city. Cost-Effective: Using POC for long-distance communication can be cheaper than traditional UHF radios, which might need extra infrastructure. Better Team Coordination: If you’re working on a construction site or managing an event, the dual radio features make it easier to keep everyone informed. Conclusion The Ulefone Armor 20WT Walkie Talkie Rugged Phone is a fantastic choice if you need a phone that can handle tough environments and offer reliable communication. • Rugged phone?
As I am in a big need of a rugged phone, using a walkie Talkie regally I was excited as I found this phone for a great price. All the other phones I have found called rugged with radio was twice or even 3 times as much as this one. As I received the phone my excitement grew, it seemed stable it is heavy, but the fact of not having to carry a radio in one pocket and phone in the other, helped me quickly over come the weight. Phone works great strong flashlight and the radio doesn't just cover the GMRS channels but also the 70 cm band for us radio amatou8rs. and the radio works well. finger print scanner in a good place, easy to handle phone with one hand as you are out in the field. So the question is why am I not giving this phone a top score? The reason is that the description of the phone seems little bit of a stretch from my experience. To start with the battery for example does not live up to "Armor 3W will run heavily at least 4 days" as it says in the description, The phone will run for for about 3 days sometimes it will reach 4 days., That's only 1 more day on a average on any other phone I have had in the last few year. The second issue I have, is if it should be called a rugged phone, as I was up in the mountains, weather was snowing and the temperature was around mid 20-ties I was talking on the phone for quite a while and when I came inside the house the phone suddenly shut down, I thought at first I was out of battery but as I turned the phone back on it was still at 50 percent. Later that day I dropped my phone free fall from 1.2 meter, wood floor. and the screen cracked, not the screen protector the screen, never seen that before from that low of a drop and I have dropped my fair share of phones through the years. In the description Ulefone says that the phone can handle a free fall of at least 1.2 meters, I contacted Ulefone about my experiences thinking that the phone could be a faulty, As they answered they asked a odd question I thought the question was did you drop the phone in water, odd because it says in the description that you could even use the camera under water. Ether way they would not stand by there product just told me that I need to send my phone if I wanted the screen fixed to their service center, and where was the service center not in the US but in China, I need to spend about 35 dollars to send the phone to China then 45 to get it back, and who knows when I would get it back. So in conclusion, I like the phone it definitely filled a need for me during the 2 1/2 months it worked, as a radio and phone but if you are out climbing mountains on a oil rig or on a constructions site this phone might not be as rugged as the description may let you think it is. Customer service may not be the best. As I said I gave the company the chance to switch out the phone if it was a faulty phone version. But they didn't go for that which makes me think they may be stretching the facts a bit in their description, meaning that the phone is not made for the activities they describe unless you are careful of course, and treat the phone as any other phone that may be cheaper. ... show more

  • Overall great phone, with awesome battery life.
Size: Armor 20WT Walkie Talkie
This replacemented my ulefone 3w, which I really liked and had no intention of replacing until it got damaged by no fault of its own. My 3w was great and held up to a lot a abuse. This is almost identical to the 3w, just updated. I am with Verizon and this one seems to work better with less dropped calls, better signal, and the data seems to work better in locations the 3w didn't. It still has the awesome battery life of several days. The camera is a little better, but still not as good as my wife's Samsung. I was able to get the two way radio feature to work with the 400mhz walkie-talkies we use on the farm. This is a really cool feature, less stuff to carry around now. I really like the physical buttons and the programmable one. I have it set so a double click turns the flashlight on and a long press for the ptt for the walkie-talkies, works great. This also has a faster processor, more ram, and more internal storage, it is noticeablely faster that the 3w was. I am getting used to the layout of Android 12, but I not sure I like it better than 9 that was on the 3w. Overall I am very happy with this phone as it has all of the features that are important to me that I cannot get with any other phone that will work on Verizon. ... show more

  • pretty good
Size: Armor 26 Ultra Walkie Talkie
I just had it for 3 days only charged it once radio sound clear and smooth On 7cm I got 5W high power and 0.6W on low power On 2M I got 5.2W high power and 0.65W on low power so saying its average 3W is pretty good and honest. its pretty good on batteries on the radio I see not offset settings and no scanning channels that would be a grate feature a waterfall would be assume I think if you put more radio app feathers in it would be a huge seller for the ham radio people. ... show more
