  • Very nice camera clip with a compact design
Size: Backpack Straps V2 Kit
I attached the Ulanzi FALCAM F38 clip to the webbing on my backpack strap and was quite happy with the camera access that location provided. My backpack has 3-inch-wide straps, and the clip attachment mechanism is too narrow to work with the straps directly, but that is also true for the other camera clips I have. Overall, I am quite happy with this camera clip and like it better than the other clips. Another great product from Ulanzi. What I liked about the Ulanzi F38 clip: - Clipping in feels effortless and there is an audible click when attaching. Both attaching and releasing the camera from the baseplate are smooth, with no feeling of hanging up or dragging. There is little or no play in the Ulanzi quick-release plate when it is attached to the baseplate. - The clip release button is easy to operate and includes an integrated lock. - The clip works fine whether mounted horizontally or vertically. - The clip is compact in design and considerably less bulky than the other clips I have. - The quality of the clip overall is very good. What I did not like as much about the Ulanzi F38 clip as compared to my other clips: - The clamping mechanism includes a lanyard to attach the QR baseplate to a backpack strap as opposed to a metal backing plate. This makes the clip more compact, but I am hesitant to use this mechanism with a very heavy lens and camera combination (i.e., 6 pounds or more.) The lanyard may be perfectly fine with this weight, but it leaves me a little nervous. Regardless, the clip will work fine with my camera and with every lens I have except one. - The lanyard can also wear and has color coding built in to indicate any wear. A spare replacement lanyard is included in case the lanyard does need to be replaced. A few other things: - I could clip QR plates from my other clamps into the Ulanzi QR baseplate but not vice-versa as this type of interoperation is very dependent on the design and size of the QR plate. I was also able to securely attach the Ulanzi QR plate to the QR baseplates on my tripods but not vice-versa. - I also clamped the Ulanzi QR baseplate to a thin, one-inch-wide strap on a camera sling. The clip attached securely, but I could slide the plate on the strap a bit if I put pressure on it (i.e., more than camera weight alone.) The other clips I have do not move at all on the small straps. ... show more

  • Great camera backpack strap clip
Size: Backpack Straps V2 Kit
Really liking this camera backpack strap clip quick release kit. I am able to use this with my Insta360 camera and keep it attach to my backpack straps while walking when filming. Easy to use and the material is pretty good. Haven't tried a bigger camera but it should be good for something heavier than my Insta360 camera. ... show more

  • Liking it so far, attaching to equipment could be easier
Size: Backpack Straps V2 Kit
I've been considering a Peak camera clip for awhile and saw this option for less money available. I'm happy with this so far and supports similar strap thicknesses. I do think Peak has a simpler approach to attaching to equipment. This one requires opening it up, popping out the cable, wrapping the cable around your equipment, looping the cable into the right slot, then clamping it down. I like to put this on my belt after it's around my waist and the Peak system is just easier. Other than that I've got no real complaints. The camera base is arca-swiss compatible so I don't have to decide between an arca or this clip. The button locks out with ease and I've not have my equipment fall when the lock is engaged. It works great on a backpack or belt even though the belt requires horizontal entry. The cable is very flexible but doesn't have any spring to it so it holds tight. Apparently the cable might stretch out with use as there's an extra one included in the package. ... show more

  • Could be better
Size: Backpack Straps V2 Kit
This system has an overall great built quality but lacks one thing in my opinion. I wish the actual plate had an anti twist lever or something. Although this system is far better and super convenient compared to other systems, it’s essentially the same since the camera can still potentially twist off. ... show more

  • MY SKEPTICISM DISSOLVES
Size: Backpack Straps V2 Kit
As a hiker and photographer, I’ve tried various methods to carry a camera while hiking: mostly either inside my pack (not convenient), or dangling on a cross body strap (not secure). For a long time I’ve looked at the camera clip systems that attach to your pack’s shoulder strap. I’ve also been very skeptical of them. So I finally tried this one from Ulanzi. It includes two parts: a base that attaches to the strap, and a small top plate that screws into your camera via the tripod mounting threads. Installing the base went well. I encountered no problems, and it proved very, very solid. The top plate attaches to the camera easily (and will also fit into Arca compatible tripods). It all seemed secure, and felt good around the house. In order to really test this system out, I put it on a mirrorless camera with a not too heavy 28-75mm lens. Total weight of the camera and lens combo was two and three-quarter pounds (1252 grams). Then I went for an eight mile canyon hike. My fears were 1) how well the camera would be supported, and 2) whether the rig would feel awkward. My fears were unfounded. The set-up was unobtrusive, and very convenient to use. Whereas in the past I would sometimes skip taking a photo because I did not want to take my pack off, now it was super quick and easy. And to my surprise, wearing this rig did not bother me at all. And after this big hike the mounts were still solidly locked in place. Amazing! I do offer a couple of additional points. First, I remain reluctant to put too heavy of a lens on it. I am not worried about the mount on the strap, but about the downward pull on the camera’s lens mount. Second, I advise caution when taking your pack off. The system is strong, but once your strap is loose the extra weight can create a pendulum effect—and your camera might unexpectedly hit something if you are not careful. I decided the best practice is to remove the camera before taking the pack off. Those are not really problems, just real world limitations. This is a really good and useful product. I did not expect to like it before I tested it, but I came away convinced and converted. It’s earned a spot on my backpack, and I don’t plan on removing it. ... show more
