  • No instructions so I created a video
The media could not be loaded. I like it. It doesn't interfere with any of the cameras functionality and is well built and thought of. What a serious pain Smallrig is for never having any form of instructions. Not even a diagram, a note or even a hint. I won't drop stars for that since it is a great product and when shoppers are looking for something, they don't see the lack of stars for anything other than a bad overall product. I created a video for it that had a lot of background noise I had to clean up. In doing that cleanup, it left an echo effect. I was able to drown that out with some simple music. It's my own rendition of Stairway, my way, so shouldn't be blocked (you can barely hear it), but something was necessary to save your ears from the echo effect the noise reduction created. Lastly, there are some model numbers higher than this one that were discontinued. Not sure how smallrig does their model numbers. It makes as much sense as not including instructions of any kind in their products. ... show more

  • Perfect and lightweight
So lightweight I can even use on my camera even on a gimbal. Very convenient and worth the money

  • Not Identical to the Product Pictures
This cage works fine on my Z6II but the description/pictures for the product do not match the delivered item exactly. For example, there are no threaded holes for the "FTZ lens Adapter Support 2244". I did check and my FTZII mounts just fine. There are some differences around the installation key storage (magnetic) area at the bottom of the cage as well, but not an issue. It seems like old pictures and descriptions were just not updated (at least on Amazon) when slight modifications to the product were made. Installation-wise, note that it's necessary to remove the camera strap mounting (triangular) hardware to allow a proper cage fit and to allow mounting screw access (the screw inserts through the camera strap connector hardware) for connecting the upper left corner of the cage (viewing from the rear of the camera) on the Z6II. ... show more

  • Great protection with several accessories
I love the simple installation and two point anchoring to the camera. Very tight contact with no flex. It should be noted that the latest version does NOT have 1/4' threaded holes on the front for the discontinued FTZ adapter support. No biggie, but Amazon should remove this option on this product.

  • Does the job
This was an improvement over an earlier version I had. worked well when configuring a video rig for my nikon z6ii

  • Nice fit for the Nikon Z6
I use the Z6 for photos and video. I wanted a cage to protect the body and may be attach a handle and other accessories to it without putting too much pressure on the camera itself. This cage is a nice fit and I love the fact it is secured in two different places so the body doesn't spin around like it would inside other cages with one point of connection only. It's a great fit for the Nikon Z6. I'd recommend it. ... show more

  • Good Cage but Could be Better
Update - I am leaving my original review below, however the review was based on bad information I had received along with the fact that there are absolutely no instructions of any kind included with the cage. Not even a simple quick setup card. Had such a card been included I would not have had to write the original review. As it turns out you DO NOT need to remove the strap lug as I was originally told on a forum. You just remove the strap clip from the lug. You then use the included cage tool to remove the M2.5 screw from the side of the cage and insert this screw through the strap lug. This along with the 1/4 thread bottom attachment gives you two points of attachment between your camera and the cage. The reason for three stars is 1) with the cage on it is quite difficult to remove the XQD card as the cage blocks the door from fully opening. Make that very difficult. And 2) the cage blocks the use of the Z6 IIs included stress relief attachment which you will want to use if you shoot tethered. SmallRig sells their own stress relief for this cage in the 20something dollar range. But I actually prefer Nikons relief over the SmallRig which looks like it actually puts sideways stress on the HDMI and USB ports. Here is my original review: There are different versions of this cage for the Z6 and Z6 II from SmallRig. I ordered the version #2926 and it was a mistake. I could not get the camera to go into the cage no matter what I tried. After much research I discovered that what they don't tell you is that in order to install your Z6 into this cage you must remove the left strap attachment. Not just the metal strap clip, but the entire lug itself from your camera body. The right way to do this is to disassemble your camera! Any other way and you can easily damage the body of your $2K camera. My suggestion, steer clear of this version and buy the #2972 version instead, which costs exactly the same, and according to a video on YouTube, doesn't require the removal of the strap lug. This is what I just did. If I don't update this review then you will know that the 2972 worked as it should where this 2926 failed. ... show more
