I have been steady using this rod for 2 years now, all I can say is it’s the best all around rod. I’ve caught perch, catfish,even turtles (unintentionally) (personal fav) bass all kinds. I matched it with the braided line 30lb 150yards, works a charm. Never have any back lash. Anything that gets tangled is easily undone, I’ve used this in ponds, in lakes. You name it I’ve used it. I’ve bought other rods as (play) rods if you will and I always find myself going right back to my gx2 the cast is without a doubt the best in the market. The rod splits into two if I need to take it somewhere. It’s light weight but not the durability this thing can pull some monsters. Biggest I pulled in was an 8lb didn’t need a net anything after you’ll need a net. The rod is all around one of the best things I am literally buying another as we speak hence why I came back to write a review. Beyond amazing between the cast I get about 50 yards (pushing it with a weighted hook and that’s it) so the cast is smooth nice and goes, the flexibility as you get bit, I mean you can feel every chop. And yes you can pull up the cats, picture above is some of many catches with this rod! Save yourself the time and money and buy this rod you’ll thank me later!! ... show more

I got this rod because I heard it was very beginner friendly and indestructible. I have zero experience fishing but this rod was easy enough to set up with the help of YouTube. Many coworkers recommended this rod for my area which has fish as small as bluegill all the way up to salmon. For the price, I am told you cannot beat it. Neat little package very sensitive on the bites is great for pan fish and perch. My one drawback is the end section on the rod keeps flying off after a lot of casts but other wise great kit Update see photo caught using this rig about 15 inches of catfish reeled him no problem

As we all know fishing poles are straight I bought this fishing pole because it’s are go to set up for are type of fishing or all types of fishing for the matter but the pole I received is bent curved never seen a ugly stick that is bent and curved it’s sad I bought this pole for my 9 year old son after I knocked his other pole off the kayak and into the river now I have a bent pole to give him I can’t win but a bent/curved ugly stick this is ridiculous don’t know if it’s from storing it or it happened through the poles travels or when it was made but this is the first and it’s very disappointing im sad I hope I get a refund or another sent to me I’m not going through the hassle of returning the pole etc would like a straight fishing pole delivered to us that’s straight forward good luck out there ... show more
