Loved making this pinball machine. Most of the directions were easy to follow but there were a few that were a bit confusing. However, there are construction tutorials on YouTube that will help in cases of confusion. The flippers work great and it's fun to play with. Not for kids unless you plan to help a lot. I enjoy putting together these 3D wood puzzles. Most of them have rather flimsy wood so I was skeptical that I was going to be able to use this little pinball puzzle once I finished, but the wood was actually quite sturdy. I will advise that you rotate whatever part you're working on to match the picture... and have a set of tiny needle nosed pliers on hand (I have a pair I use for jewelry making. It helped both with squeezing the pieces so they go together more easily and with poking the pieces back out when you inevitably assemble them incorrectly. The end pinball machine has a few dead zones, but honestly those could easily be my fault with the assembly. Other than that it plays like a proper pinball machine with semi-manual scoring. It was also really cool seeing how all the pieces fit together and worked. Now I can enjoy a game of pinball whenever I want. ... show more

    • Tips for wood puzzle builders
I have not purchased this kit (yet), I do have a very nice ROKR pinball machine that has more electronics than any other puzzle I've done but went together well and plays great. I have built more than 20 of these kits including the Calypso (Cousteau's ship) and a giant battery powered marble run, most important tip I've learned is buy extra wax. The wood parts can get dry and become difficult to put together, use the wax on any parts, not just the ones they tell you to put wax on, to help them slide together better. Also, some puzzles have mesh cut pieces that are intended to bend creating curved walls, my advice would be to avoid these, they're a pain to work with and break too easily. ... show more

It’s a tough puzzle to put together and hard on your finger tips. It’s well though out and relatively easy to read but it’s more for the shelf than to actually use. Some of it I had to glue to get to stay in place

The original Pinball games were like this. The games did not run on electricity. This will allow you to do pinball before the old-school machines. Take the time to sand the edges to smooth them out. The lubricant is wax. I recommend waxing any place where moving parts meet each other. As with Ugears kits take your time and go one page at a time. If you are a Harry Potter fan, this will give you a taste of Quidditch. I have yet to get the Golden Snitch. ... show more
